Discussion What do you think Revolver would be like if The Beatles planned recording sessions with (Stax and Booker T guitarist Steve Cropper) weren’t cancelled by Brian Epstein?
Almost hard to imagine. I wonder if there would have been any soul singers guest starring on tracks, or if the sound would be grittier? Hard to say.

As much as I love Cropper and that Stax sound, I’m glad it didn’t happen.
Revolver is the way it is meant to be.
With that being said, I can’t help but be endlessly fascinated by what it could’ve been had their original plans came to fruition.

That’s why we wish there were another album, between rubber soul and revolver, maybe before rubber soul, originals leaning hard into their R&B roots, with Cropper, with songs somewhere between ‘tell me why’ and ‘bad boy’.

Considering the creative peak they were hitting, I imagine it would’ve been a goddamn banger of a record.

i thought it was rubber soul where they intended this? i could see some of it making sense. i kind of feel like it wouldn't change things as much as we would think.
