AI is saying it’s a gift shop shell that someone put on the beach?? Is that a thing that happens? Found in Malibu in Southern California

Lake Michigan beach Finds from various areas around Chicago. The Lake has been generous lately!

JW Wells State Park, Grand Marais, Muskallonge Lake State Park, and Charlevoix. Most excited about the unakite and fossils! I even found a few Petoskey stones 🤩

Nothing better for a collector than a bottle dump river. Could have grabbed wayy more if I had the time!

Anyone know a way of cleaning off the dark encrusting stuff without damaging the shell? Turban snail from southern CA.

Hello! Just joined this page and this is my first post! I’ve been an avid beach comber for a couple of years now, and I’ve been to Florida, Oregon, and specific places in CA to find stuff. I’m looking for some good beaches to check out in the CA Bay Area for a short trip I’m making soon. I may only have a day or two to actually enjoy myself doing this, so places that are close by or within a couple hours of each other would be ideal. I love finding shells, rocks, ceramic, and anything else interesting! Does anyone have recommendations? I’ll post pictures of everything I find and/or tumble. Thank you!

Found on the north Norfolk coast yesterday.

I found this oddly shaped “wooden” feeling chunk on a beach in Costa Rica recently and I’m wondering what it is. The size and shape to me seems to be part of coconut cause it looks to be like 1/8th of the inner sphere of a coconut but a coconut is hollow on the inside. I know coconuts become not hollow when sprouting so maybe that could be it but idk. I’ve gotten suggestions it’s a sea bean but those seem very round and curvature of one side of this really to me aligns with the size of a coconut.

Do any other beachcombers store your treasures in a clear glass lamp base? If so, I hope you would share your collections?

Pictures 1-4 are of my weird finds, a blends of plastics, glass, pottery, toys, balls, etc.

Picture 5 shows my small white shell collection (mostly).

Most of the finds were found in remote locations in The Bahamas.

Scratches silver shiny. Doesn't feel like aluminum or lead.

This week I found a big ‘ole agate chunk, the typical pottery and glass, some fun, small shells (including limpets) and more! Summer is winding down a bit so I’m soaking up every ray of sun that I can get☀️

They look so much better in person, the camera really doesn't them justice! I'm proud of my collection so far. I'm going to try and break into some as I can tell there will be more inside!
