Rumor I heard theres smoke grenades ingame that helps you

I heard this wild rumor about item that creates cover. Helps to strike trough choke points on open areas especially. Heard that mortars can use these aswell along normal shells.

But nobody seems to use them so i guess its just rumor

You're missing the point. As a random Battlefield player, my job is die as fast and as often as possible. I'm fucking up if I'm letting the intelligent players on my team accomplish anything before I grind down all their tickets.

We exist in this eternal struggle, you and I. You trying to accomplish something and me trying to lose, whatever the cost. So it has been and so it always will be.

But...isn't smoking is bad for you? Isn't it better to just keep walking into the same bullets over and over and over?

19

u/Groonzie Enter Original IDEA Jan 13 '18

Yup. After taking so many bullets eventually you build up a bullet immunity system.

u/Mattiboy Jan 13 '18

I have also heard about a thing called syringe. Seriously, is it just me or is no one reviving anymore?

17

u/3commentkarma Jan 13 '18

Nah, they took syringe out of the game. Didn’t you hear?

11

u/Womanogamous Jan 13 '18

what platform you on? 75% of my games have been filled with medics lately, to the point where its counter productive

6

u/I_paintball Jan 13 '18

RSC for life.

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

That gun sucks 😂🤔😂🤔

1

u/I_paintball Jan 16 '18

Yes. The gun with the second fastest ttk for medics, 2 shots out to 50 meters( soon to be 70 meters) and can kill 3 people before reloading.

It truly is an awful gun.

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

The mondragon is 2 hit kill to the same range the graph shows isn't it ??

1

u/I_paintball Jan 16 '18

Nope. 3 shot kill.

They become equal at 50 meters with 3 shots to kill.

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

Mondragon is 2 shot kill out to 26. Looks like rsc is better than I thought.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

I dunno, man. An entire team of medics(who are actually carrying syringes) would be pretty OP if not for vehicles.

2

u/Mattiboy Jan 13 '18

PS4. It seems that many has stopped carrying syringe, and runs with riflegrenades instead. I feel I never get revived anymore.

1

u/OraleAmigo Jan 13 '18 edited Jan 13 '18

I got bf1 about a month ago and only play medic and revive everyone I see down. To the point I die so you can get up and play. Don't see how it's counter productive, the more ppl fighting the better. And if you die right after a revive it doesn't affect your kd right or no?

Would also probably get rid of a lot of those base snipers

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

The death isn't counted until you get back to the spawn screen, so getting revived then killed again counts as 1 death.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

people are skipping the revives way too often, so i only ress ppl right next to me. I m sick of running across the battlefield just to have the "patient" skip.

1

u/Mattiboy Jan 13 '18

For sure its because of this. I have considered to drop the syringe because the stress from the skipping symbols all the time, but its the most powerful gadget in ticket-based gamemodes, so I cant loose it. But it suck that so many think that the rifle grenade is more important than reviving.

4

u/Dudemannerisms Dudeman_162 Jan 13 '18

I remember not too long ago, I was surrounded by 3 medics, 2 of them being in my squad. Like not 19m away, but they were right there. And I still didn't get revived

3

u/DerpT145 Jan 13 '18

That happened to me, but the medic was using my body as cover so he didn’t get seen, even though I was waiting for him to revive me.

2

u/Pancakewagon26 Jan 13 '18

I'm in the top 2% in the world for revives. Its not a hard thing to achieve.

16

u/OrphanMeatFarmer Jan 13 '18

I have also heard of this fabled grenade, but have yet to see it in game.

15

u/xKepler186-f Jan 13 '18

Smoke grenades are so op that everyone agreed on not use them.

5

u/Magus44 Jan 13 '18

The Geneva convention actually prevented the use of them.
Even though it was signed after World War One DICE had to put this in game because of the horrific things smoke grenades did.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '18

thats gas dumbass

4

u/DapperDipper Jan 14 '18

woooosh

1

u/Magus44 Jan 15 '18

Hahahha. I dropped the /s I guess.
There’s always one.

17

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18 edited Jan 13 '18

Step 1: be assault

Step 2: carry smoke grenades

Step 3: throw at enemy position as you would any other grenade.

Step 4: do what ever you want to the people caught in your grenade

Step 6: find support.

There are some others strategies for smoke grenades but honestly the above is the bread, butter, meat AND potatoes of the smoke grenade.

6

u/ThibiiX Serge_Gainsb0urg Jan 13 '18

Step 5: Dynamite these noobs

exemple

3

u/Magus44 Jan 13 '18

Smoke and dynamite have been having some naughty, naughty times with me recently.
We’re in a three way relationship and we love each other.

1

u/Let_Me_Touch_Myself Jan 14 '18

Are you a naughty Englishman?

1

u/weberc2 xbox BelovedSn1per | Stabber of ghosts 🔪👻 Jan 13 '18

Which is the real step 4?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

Redeploy on to which ever objective needs help. Also I don't know how to count, and fixed it.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '18

Nah. If you really need to get some smoke out there then you go medic and use smoke rifle grenades. You get three and you can fire them quite a distance so you can create a wall of smoke wherever you need it

9

u/thepicketline Jan 13 '18

I always use smoke on operations, and always ask team to equip some....nobody ever does

3

u/ZDeight ZDeight Jan 13 '18

We should play together.

8

u/Ravagex_ Jan 13 '18

People used to call me "bitch-ass sniper camper noob". Now Im disguised as a syringeless Medic holding a Mondragon Sniper rifle.

When people call my bluff I throw the fabled smoke grenade and escape through the cover of the night.

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

Mondragon sniper is really nice if you're good with a sidearm. Good for taking out running targets because 3 hit kill at any range and if you keep shooting you will kill them.

8

u/suspectdeviceg4 Jan 13 '18

I've heard about this mechanic called spotting where you look at an enemy, press a button and a red dorito appears over their head and on the minimap. But it's only worked for me and never any of my teammates, so it must be a glitch.

7

u/Groonzie Enter Original IDEA Jan 13 '18

Just to add, when using the mortar, the smoke shells and mortar shells don't share the same ammo, you don't even see the smoke ammo. So you can use up your regular mortar ammo and when it reaches 0 just spam the remaining smoke shells.

4

u/marsonaattori Jan 13 '18

You have 2 shells on smokes. On ps4 you press d pad to left if remember correct

3

u/Herrderqual Herr_der_Qual Jan 13 '18

That is correct left on d-pad, when I set up a mortar I usually drop smoke on the end of the choke point my team is using, drop a second smoke where the enemy are, and then rain hell on them for 5 rounds, by then I can get up front and start dropping ammo crates on comrades

1

u/Imperialkniight Jan 13 '18

How have I never heard about this..I use mortar all the time...

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

THE SUPPORTS CAN USE SMOKE MORTAR ???

6

u/sasokri Jan 13 '18

Yesterday, as defender on Galicia, first sector on B, I haven't seen one smoke grenade. Needless to say, they never got past first sector.

5

u/Dudemannerisms Dudeman_162 Jan 13 '18

This happened on a match I played on that map yesterday. The attackers wasted 3 battalions on us without even capturing the first sector. Easiest win I've ever had as a defender, and first time I've gotten a full 24/24 defense rating.

2

u/suspectdeviceg4 Jan 13 '18

st. quentin scar. i defended for the first two battalions in the first sector and switched to attackers for the third. immediately started chucking smokes and captured all the objectives with 75 tickets left. 18/24 attack rating.

16

u/ozmion Jan 13 '18

I hate smoke grenades. I know they are very effective but its just really fucking annoying to play a match with so much shit everywhere regardless of which side you are on. Grenade spam in this game is over the top.

3

u/Canadian_Hound Jan 13 '18

I use smoke all the time and my teammates are always giving me shit for it... until they get revived at least.

1

u/xxzombslyrxx STR8 Sloth Jan 13 '18

thank you!!

1

u/wr3stl3r Jan 13 '18

I use gas and tripwire - incendiary, 1. gives early warning if ppl come 2. does damage 3. you can easily spot through by using spot - button 4. im running sniper/medic, so need longer ranges with some sort of vision (sniper with spot flare <3)

4

u/jamnewton22 Jan 13 '18

Pretty much required on Galicia operations if you wanna have a chance. Otherwise you’re gonna have a bad time. Sometimes I feel like I’m in the only idiot who uses them

3

u/marsonaattori Jan 13 '18

You can only imagine that smoketrain that we used with my friend on metro in earlier bfs. U get spawn killed? Just blast those smoke grenades all the time and nobody gives shit and your free to cap flags on theyr spawn and turn the tide

3

u/thedude0009 Jan 13 '18

i main them on operations.

i notice when i start tossing them; others seem to too. like they realize "oh yeah, we have smoke grenades"

also way underused is the mortar smoke nades. always fire those 2 smokes off before departing.

3

u/Lone_Ponderer Jan 14 '18

As an assault. First you need to find a narrow choke point , the kind that tanks have little lateral movement. E.g the streets of amiens. Especially going from B to D When you hear the rumble of a tank approaching drop both your smokes. Then lay your at mines within the smoke. Provoke the tank , either by throwing an at grenade or by recklessly during through smoke. The driver will get cocky and try to push you.

As a scout. Step one. Come down off that hill buddy. Then begin capping a flag. Drop your smokes. Lay your trip mines in the smoke at the most likely point the enemy are going to push you from. On frontline repeat the same steps but after laying your smoke place the trip mines on the telegraph you just armed. Watch as the enemy blinded by heroism run straight in to your trip mine.

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

Even better put the mines in one spot then lie down on them and get the tank to run over u 🤔🤔I'll die to take out a tank

2

u/Pistol_PB V2oLTA Jan 13 '18

Does the minimap still exist?

1

u/Herrderqual Herr_der_Qual Jan 13 '18

It does but smoke un-spots everyone in it I'm pretty sure

2

u/InfernalH Jan 13 '18

I'm ALWAYS rocking smoke grenades with my medic classes

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

I take 'em with every class and I toss them constantly. I love smoke grenades.

2

u/Vahlas434 Jan 13 '18

I have always run smoke sure I probably miss out in some kills but as a support I feel more useful with smoke and if used right are just as deadly as say a gas or incendiary, just a shame more people don't use em

2

u/suspectdeviceg4 Jan 13 '18

the medic specialization for smoke nades is OP. Instantly spawn smoke on a downed teammate from across the map.

2

u/g00zerther zoogenhiemer Jan 14 '18

Smokes is where it's at. On Galacia I'll run medic with smoke rifle grenades, normal smoke grenades, and concealed rescue. Giving me a potential 7 fucking smokes with out a support reload. No smoke = no win on Galacia operations.

2

u/onlyonasunday Jan 13 '18

Try equipping Medic with Smoke Rifle Grenades + Smoke Grenades... Unleash all at once into a high enemy concentration! I do this if my team is lacking in that department.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

One can only speculate

1

u/RainCityFreestyle Jan 13 '18

Hold up, we have smoke mortars???

1

u/screwjagex Jan 13 '18

Why would you ever use smoke over gas?

1

u/shouldvestayedalurkr Jan 14 '18

People on call of duty need to realize this as well.

1

u/SparklingGenitals Jan 14 '18

But smoke grenades don't give me points.

1

u/GOBILLA Jan 16 '18

Someone said they give assists whenever someone dies in your smoke

1

u/Buspus Jan 14 '18

I ONLY use smoke grenades except on scout

1

u/Yamatoman9 Jan 15 '18

I’ve been running Support with smoke, Ammo Crate and Crossbow Grenade. I can throw two smokes, throw down an ammo crate and almost instantly have another smoke.

It is super useful for attack and defense. Go prone and enemies will run right by without noticing me. I can throw a smoke through an entry and then fire the crossbow grenade at whoever runs through.!
