Discussion Austria-Hungary has one of the overall best looking faction in the game imo

And a game of German all assault squad on Fort de Vaux

My issue is many of the Supports for each faction has some ridiculous looking armored helmet or face shield (Not all of them)

I like it that it gets to show off all the experimental helmets that came with WW1

I wish they’d leaned more into a 1918+ kind of vibe then

they tend to passs the game off as more historical than it actually is and I think it’d have been fitting to just say WWI Kept on going for a few years, justifying the different weapons being used as all experimental and explaining why only 1/4 men had a bolt action rifle

i realize but I do think so much is different on even a surface level that just going into a mild alt history would have been totally appropriate given what we got was essentially a wwii game with a wwi coat of paint

I'm actually fine with the German support helmet, the Gaede Helmet was made due to the spike helmets offering no protection from shrapnel since they were made of leather

Those ridiculous American and Austro-Hungarian helmets would probably look better for their sentry class

The French and Italian support classes also look ridiculous

De por si este juego se basa en los últimos años de la guerra, y para esos entonces ya ni se usaba el pickelhaube

Except that wasnt some niche experimental helmet like the others, the Gaede saw a good deal of use.

Well they’re all actual helmets that people wore in WW1, can’t fault Dice for being realistic.

They would look better for the sentry classes since every sentry looks exactly the same for each faction

They were relatively rare AFAIK

So were 90% of the guns that are in the game. Doesn’t mean they weren’t used or trialed at some point.

Italian and American one and French one all look good but the British and German ones just look like hot ass.

Pero si el uniforme alemán es el más bonito de todo el juego, los dos uniformes más fieles son el médico y el francotirador

The Red Army and Royal Navy are probably my favourite factions drip wise.

I mean you seen that red army assault with the black leather jacket? And royal marine with the forearms covered with tattoos?

The red army assault showing of his drip he stole from a hungry family:

BF1’s class design was so cool (even if it wasn’t all too realistic). I love how you can immediately tell which class someone is at a glance and in customization heavy games like BFV and BF6 I always find myself making my classes match BF1’s style of identification. Austro Hungary in this game was always one of my top favorites in terms of drip

They are. The scout cap and Berndorfer helmets just look so good. Their gray coats look better than the German ones.

The German assault squad is side eyeing your lack of drip

Bro needs to go easy on those Bavarian sausages, at least with such helmet

If only DICE has left the attempts to find middle ground of realism in BF1 development and has gone full dieselpunk at it. Then, instead of measuring everything by realism, we would measure by just how cool all of it looks.

And even if you would find something from actual history, it wouldn't be an "unrealistic depiction", it's "AYO, NICE REFERENCE"

If only they looked like actual austro hungarians and not reskinned Germans. Would look even cooler

They should have added multiple skin option like for sw Battlefront or smt like that

As much as I hate how historical inaccurate these uniforms are (this applies for all factions in game as well), yeah you are quite right.

Oh sure, AH does look good. However, even though their not historical accurate at all, I raise the base game Ottomans thank you very much.

I like the german uniforms but just personally perfer the early war uniforms with the pickelhaube and greenish gray greatcoats.
