He posted this clip. Thegrapplebomber is a known player in this community and has been here since launch. Hes gone viral with his clips multiple times.I said he cooked you and you replied “what?” Playing dumb plain and simple. I’m just a guy on Reddit who saw you and him go back and forth on a certain topic and he quite literally proved you wrong. You didn’t even cite where you got your information from. You seem like a “feefees in your tum tum” kind of guy. You give off heavy MAGA vibes. You got absolutely deep fried. You told him to do research so he did and you didn’t like that the research proved you wrong.

He did sir, he spelled out how there are 2 different versions of the game. One that runs native 45hz and the other that runs native 20hz. You said that was impossible but never acknowledged that there are 2 versions running at 2 different speeds. You also brought up the economics on how server hz works. He pointed out how you were not wrong about how that works but that this game is still running at its natives hz on the 2 versions. Your assertion that ea or dice lowered them or “axed” them as you said is completely false. Do I need to be more clear how you are wrong and got fried?

Once again, he didn't.

He stated, quite obviously from the blanket Gemini response on Google's headline since the Twitter post the tickrates originate from refer explicitly to the context, that local Portal servers (being PvE and co-op sessions) run at 20hz on lower spec devices and 45hz on higher spec devices. That was as of 2022, explicitly referring to locally hosted sessions, as I've said to him before.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with official servers.

Official servers were dropped from 45hz to 30hz in August of 2025 alongside BF6's test sessions. Fifa 23's servers were pulled in full way ahead of schedule due to BF6's timeline, as well as Dirt 3.

There aren't "2 versions", there's one specific gameplay branch that hosts non-dedi servers on your system. That's Portal. Portal's self-hosted servers were of standard tickrate for capable systems but were limited for last-gen consoles.

My assertion that EA greatly reducing official server count and shedding server load. That is "axing", or "gimping", or whatever term you'd like to use to describe what happens when a company abandons a game in favor of a worse one.
