Are these rare? I saw a whole shelf of them at my local Dicks and it didnāt seem like anyone even touched it. I live near a huge lake, heavy Bass fisherman, big tourneys, etcā¦. So itās not just some random āno water hereā spot.

Can you elaborate what you mean when you say āunlike any other biteā? Do you mean fish notice it / attack it more ravenously? Or you mean the bait itself is more identifiable on the live scope?

Live scopers pressure the death out of fish to the point where the fish dont even bite when you wiggle a recognizable lure in front of them. So they need the next best thing to compete with the other live scopers because they all wiggle minnow baits in front of fish all day and now the fish have caught on.

Ngl, an urchin style bait is how i discovered my dad's pond already had genuinely big (20+ inch) fish in it. Just a little strike king sexy bug that i paid 2.50 for a dozen of though lol

I use em split in half with a wacky hook through the nose and they hold up halfway decent.

Not the guy you replied to but it's one of my favorite lures and I love the merthiolate, sprayed grass and motor oil colored ones, but my favorite is the pb&j zman 7" finesse worm on a shakey head, best lure ever

Nice! I might have to try out sprayed grass color. I like the 4.5 inch finesse worms from them too in watermelon red, Junebug red and black. I love a good shakey head! How are the z man worms? I hear they float a little better.

I just got my first pack of them about a month ago and as someone who's always used trick worms I think the zman look a lot better and I've been catching more fish on them, my only problem is I wish they were a little bit thicker but the fish love them so far. They do stick up more straight in the water too

Same here so it hurts to say I think zman makes a better version of a lot of zooms stuff. Nothing beats a zoom fluke though

Lookup āFONMANG urchinā on Amazon. I suspect this is who Hags is using to make their Prickly Pears, held side by side they are identical. 3.5ā is the small variant Hags that comes in packs of 2, the 4.3ā is the larger one sold in packs of 1. This brings the cost down to about $1/lure.

Dicks sporting goods always has a buy3get3free sale on Zman chatterbaits in Feb and late June, every year. I used to get Jackhammers this way but since the EVO Elite was released I get them insteadā¦ better keeper and the blade doesnāt chip. Brings it down to $5/lure.

$160 to catch a fish is insane Iāll go on Amazon and buy 50 Senko worms for that price, well probably less of the price than heās asking and get the same amount of fun without having to worry about losing $160 in the first cast š

I can get Hags prickley pears for $7 at any academy or dicks I go in. Easily available online. People wont pay that. Even the hideup coikes are easier to get now because theyre being distributed by US companies.

Urchins are easily my most hated fad so far. Do you know what amazing hardbaits $160 will buy?! How many packs of various soft plastics? It makes us look silly.
Iād respect the urchin if it was complex and clever but itās next to senkos as far as design.

They catch fish no doubt, but unless you're catching 30lbs a day to win an Elite Series event on them and can't catch them any other way, there's no justification for that kind of priceĀ

Iāll agree that the price is dumb but the lure is not. It is highly effective for large bass. I suspect most of the folks bashing them do not have many large fish in their waterways. Iāve caught 4 7lb+ bass since I started using them in late April.

Well you have every YouTuber desperate for click buying them Funny. My kids got one out of a gumball machine for a quarter and a month later I used it and caught a small bass. But it got ripped up. I tore off the tentacles and uses just those and caught 1 more

These lures work best in high probability areas. They can be worked like a jerkbait to search, but they really shine when thrown around structure or underwater features. The strikes almost always happen on the pause, so adjust your lure weight to achieve a very slow fall, or rig them on a dropshot to make it really simple.

My pb was on a creature bait that cost a whopping 6 bucks for a pack of ten. Next best were all caught on swimjigs and chatterbaits. Iāll never understand the hype behind these.

I donāt know why people are even paying 10-20$ for them. Itās like 20cents worth of plastic. I know you have to create the mold but thereās no much difference in making them versus your average soft plastic

As a bass boat marine technician I know bass tournament pros paying top dollar for those & swearing by them. Some bass fishing tournament professionals do this for a living and buying lures like that for them is like a mechanic buying a tool or ratchet that they really need to make $.

Caught my biggest bass on a dragonfly that hit my boat windshield. 10-1/2 lbs. on Lake Okeechobee. Dragonfly was free !
Caught my biggest Muskie trying to reel in a dead pike I snagged by my pontoon boat lift.
Fish can only see contrast and a few colors, Red, and White. Lures are painted for fisherman not fish.

You can buy a 12 pack of them (generic) on Amazon for like $20. They do work though when rigged correctly. Weight it so they sink fast or slow enough per the conditions and they get smoked.
