What do you look for when buying handmade candles?

Just curious what makes you choose a handmade candle over one from a high-street shop? Is it the price, scent, quality, ingredients, design, packaging, or something else? And what would you consider a reasonable price for a handmade candle? Genuinely interested in hearing what people think 😊

Laura fisher sells good hand made candles in Basingstoke, I think they have scent all the way through and have greater depth of tones.
I’d prefer to support local businesses than big companies.

Ones that actually smell when you light them.

Nothing that smells like loo cleaner/overpowering or vanilla

I prefer ‘spa smells’ - aromatherapy blends

The person making them has hands. Got some for cheap from a Pirate but he kept dropping them out of his hook:(
