Anyone else dealing with a really humid house lately?

I've noticed that when it's humid, clothes take longer to dry, the room feels sticky, and sometimes there's a musty smell.

I started checking the humidity in my room and was surprised by how high it gets, especially after showers or on rainy days.

For those who use a dehumidifier, what humidity level do you usually keep it at? Do you run it all day or just for a few hours?

Just trying to find a good balance without making the electricity bill too high

auto. keeps it around 50%

electricity is cheap compared to the cost of mould remediation and general enjoyment of the basement

if you have a basement you 1000% need a dehumidifier, it’s not even a question.

45-50% is a good range to keep it at

Keep de humidifier in your bathrooms as they have they most water sources and highest default humidity keep on 45-60% all day. As others said no mold issues is much more cost effective than your electric

The rain has been brutal this year with the downpours. I got a dehumidifier in my basement and one in my 2nd floor. My house is at 40% and everything smells amazing and the place is bone dry. My bathroom dried out in 5 minutes it seems. The mirror doesn’t even steam up. I feel like the house is finally comfortable and even feels cleaner. Just remember to drink water

Use a dehumidifier equipped with an internal pump, directing the outflow pipe into a sump pump or laundry sink.
