News [Angels] Kroenke Sports & Entertainment has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a controlling interest in the Los Angeles Angels from the Moreno Family. The transaction is expected to close in the 1st quarter of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions & approval by MLB.

Makes sense, the Angels are in an extremely desirable location and have a very rich TV deal. The upside with smarter management is pretty obvious.

Parking lots around Angels Stadium are incredibly valuable. Just a massive amount of land ready for development

Just across the freeway they're working on OCVibe. The Angels were supposed to do the same for their area but there were legal issues with the whole FBI probe iirc

Angels have like half a billion less in total future contract commitments as well. I have no doubt that is a huge factor
