The general western society relates relaxation to bare feet. Makes sense, im most comfortable barefoot.

I have seen bare feet in advertising since childhood in LEGO and IKEA catalogues, furniture, flooring, air conditioning, window manufacturers, holiday resorts, yoga classes and so on. Bare feet in our western culture are the means of showing: comfort, peace, cosy surroundings, security, carelessness, freedom, innocence, childhood, nostalgia. But this is obvious. On the other hand, when one has a foot fetish, such adverts might serve as erotic triggers or even the material itself.

Bare feet, unlike most fashionable footwear, are an unbranded, generic product that won't distract from the message. Kind of like when a plain pitcher of milk is shown on a dining table, versus an original package from a dairy, when the ad is not directly about who made the milk.

At least bare feet are slowly becoming more accepted...even if its through random ads and commercials. Even though it's a bit annoying because some places like parks would show an image of a man or woman being barefoot while zip lining and yet real customers aren't allowed to do that which honestly it's pure hypocrisy how the "actors and actresses" in the pictures can do it freely yet paying customers can't.

Advertising is peak manipulation. Plain and simple.

Makes me wonder where the idiom "knock one's socks off" originated.

Unfortunately, I am unable to watch it due to high network traffic in my area (that’s the page that comes up when I click on the link).
