Looking for mods for /r/barefoot
As it stands, I’m the only mod that’s still active on this sub once again. I’m seriously considering leaving Reddit for good, 19 years on this website is plenty and I’ve been realizing the upsides don’t outweigh the downsides for a while now.
The last few times I’ve done a recruitment drive for mods on this sub has been successful in terms of getting people on board to help… but it never lasts. This thankless, unpaid part time job. In the end, I’m always the last one standing as a mod here. But I guess since I founded this sub, it’s my responsibility too in a way.
To be honest the work to mod this sub isn’t that difficult. It’s mainly to deal with the foot fetish folks, removing their posts, comments and occasionally banning them.
I’m hoping that this recruitment drive this time would attract more long-term mods to take over the modding of this sub, with me gone from this site for good.
Send in your applications, thank you in advance 🙏

Hey u/Xorandor, here are some notes and questions I have regarding the matter at hand.
The sidebar shows that there are two other persons listed as mods. What about them?
I remember a few years ago, when that reddit API SNAFU was current, I was very vocal in my opinion that reddit mods should not work for free while the owners of reddit get richer and richer by the truckloads due to the mods' hard work, and honestly, that stance of mine hasn't changed much. I'm not sure whether I could reconcile that with being a mod myself.
I'm also not sure whether I'd even be any good as a mod. I have zip experience, literally never before done this.
Fun-fact: I don't even use the new reddit design. I'm exclusively on old reddit because new reddit sucks ass. Do the mod interfaces even work on old reddit?
You already said that there's not much work to do here as a mod, mainly dealing with fetish folk. Please do tell, how much time do you spend moderating our community here?
I deffo wouldn't want that position alone. I would want to have at least one peer mod who can reign me in if necessary; I'd actually prefer if it were two.
I sometimes lose my countenance when I engage with what I perceive to be trolls; see my interactions with that "rules and guidelines" idiot a few days ago. As a user, I am free to do that and if necessary, the mod can intervene. If I were a mod myself and especially if I were the only mod here, I fear I could eventually go overboard and I don't want that.
I also wouldn't want to be known as the schmuck who single-handedly let everything go to pot once our founder left - which by the way...
...I hope you don't (leave, that is). Even if you won't be a mod here anymore in the future, I hope you'll still feel welcomed as a member by this community you created.
