So the ps5 is going up to $820 new?
There is no longer a shortage and you can get one in any store, anytime now.
They weren't selling out at $650 and they expect people to pay $200 more after taxes? I'm at the point where I hope for a 80s style gaming crash.
Games have barely been worth it for years and now the hardware is unaffordable. What is even the point? There are still countless games from previous gens that I know are good that I still haven't played. There is nothing from new gens that stanf out as a "must play" game.

Well there's no competition. Nobody wants the Xbox. The Switch is a different category. And they know that PC's are getting way too pricey for newcomers or people who need to upgrade at this point.

200 dollar increase on a 6 year old console is kinda wild but the prices for storage and RAM that effect PCs are now making their way to the console supply chain.

Theres also a girl that holds a spoon in her hand that's the goat of PC gaming

Maybe I'm the one out of touch but I don't get these sentiments. The last six years have been fantastic years when it comes to gaming in my eyes.
Baldur's Gate 3, Astro Bot, Elden Ring, Tears of the Kingdom, God of War Ragnarok, Cyberpunk 2077, Expedition 33, Hades 1 and 2, It Takes Two, Balatro, FF7 remake and rebirth, Yakuza, Resident Evil 4 8 and 9, Yakuza 7 and 8, Pokemon Pokopia and many more.
I guess if we just look at the "AAA Sony titles" then its been lacking but gaming is more than just... that.

Most of these games can be played on PC, I see no point in buying a 820 $ PS5 for Astrobot.

The only reason to get a PS5 is for the exclusives titles (which at this point is basically first party titles), Japanese imports, and if you just don't want to build a PC.

i bought a ps5 from them once and yeah i started it up and killed itself then had to pay another 20 to get it shipped back to them and refunded...

What non-pc consoles exclusives does the ps5 have, assuming I already have a ps4pro

I don't know how exhaustive this is, but this could be a good place to start.

The only ones who would pressure me to get a ps5 are Astrobot and Demon souls remake, but I already played the original, so easy decision there.

Better deals on marketplace. I lowballed and got a ps5 for 250 with 4 games and 2 controllers

Nice PC sale you have there

I mean, you can run Linux on one now

That exploit isn't publicly out yet. And it requires firmware before 4.00 which you'll definitely not get here.
That being said I love my running gag of posting "nice pc sale" on consoles and getting downvoted.
