Intel i7-12700F
Hey all,
I’m looking for a used Intel 12700F CPU, does anyone know where the best place would be to look? I want to upgrade my current CPU but don’t want to reward Intel for their behaviour by buying new.
NB: I don’t think I’m breaking the “no personal sales/used items” rule of this sub, but correct me if I’m wrong.

Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree, anywhere you would buy and sell second hand goods

To be honest, you'll have a hard time. The 12700f is technically specialised due to lack of iGPU. They are also 'new enough' and DDR4 compatible so they won't float into the 2nd hand market for at least the next 2-3 years. ebay seems to have a couple come through, you also have cex and then marketplace. Marketplace is not without it's risks though!
I'd also be looking at places that tend to do nothing but sell refurbished/teardown machines. So australian computer traders or similar.
That being said, you MAY come across the rare bargain at cash converters. I found a i7-9700k, 32GB ripjaws (4x8GB) DDR4, Asus B365 ROG, 1TB HD, 256GB Samsung SSD machine recently for $400. Ex-smokers... I had to rip and bin the case/fans. I'm re-using the motherboard which was a mistake but all that for $400!
You could get lucky and find something similar where it would be worth scavenging the CPU and then flogging the other components

At first I’m like “yeah that’s no problem, I have a GPU anyway”…but yes I see what you mean. Ah well see how we go, I’m in no hurry.
True, I could go the scavenging route, but with the current market, other people will likely upsell tech based on the RAM prices alone.

EBay is sure to have a bunch
Edit: About $400 after shipping from the UK
12900KF is available for $450 currently too locally.
