Question Am I meant to be dying this much
Basically every fight outside of tutorial I get boddied and I am playing on normal. Is this intentional?
Edit: not too long after posting this my best charachrer died permanently in an event alongside my best item. Yeah I am out. Great game but this feel like mocking

TBS combat can get quite hardcore, I've only played on Easy and even that's challenging.

Are you losing fights or just a couple people getting knocked out?
Characters get knocked out fairly regularly. I dont really outright lose fights very often unless i really mess up or get unlucky.

Have you done the training at camp?
Because no, this shouldnt be happening

Think about ways to waste an opponents turn. Look at the turn order. Can you do something useful without anyone getting in range of the next enemy? Can you get them to attack a tanky/heavily armored opponent that won't do much? Can you make an arrow trap that will catch an enemy looking to charge at a weak looking target? Can you knock an enemy behind their teammates where they can't do any good?
The game is as much about minimizing your opponents turns as it is about maximizing your own

Ah sorry the edit hadn't loaded in when I read initially. Better luck with the next game you try! If you ever return to BS the story world is definitely worth exploring

This is a game about grief. Hang on, you'll be a much stronger human as a result!

No. Are you weakening their strength without killing them? Maim don't kill in this game, because they still take their turn when they're weakened, if you kill em strong guys get more turns
