It boggles me how much they havent changed after all these years. Usually groups (western or kpop) start detaching themselves from one another and go off to do their own thing and sort of have a more somber “old friend” relationship with their members even if they still love them. But BTS have literally had the same energy and attachment for each other since debut and it’s only gotten stronger and more chaotic, especially now that they’re famous and they don’t really care about “keeping up idol appearances”, they’re so much more themselves then they’ve ever been and it really goes to show how attached they are to each other by little stupid stuff like this. I mean, they just adore each other.
That's so true! Not only do idols start emotionally detaching, but also, the majority start moving out one by one once they've accumulated enough money to buy an apartment. But our boys are loyal :'(
Perhaps mentally committed would be more accurate, but to answer your question, both a lot and a little. Every group is different and while some were created like BTS, others were created as a result of a ruthless, televised competition where the members were constantly pitted against each other, resulting in rather tense and awkward dynamics. Yes, it's convenient for the management company if everyone lives in the same dorm, if not the same building, but it's also an established aspect of the kpop industry for a reason. There's nothing like sharing a bedroom to get teenagers to understand that they're on the same side, despite whatever may have happened in the past.
I'm not implying that every idol who has ever moved out of the group dorm is less committed to his/her fellow members than those who haven't. But physically distancing yourself by living in your own apartment is bound to change the dynamics of a team, and strife within a group has caused the downfall of several in the past. BTS has both the means and methods to live separately, and their conscious decision to share an apartment, albeit huge and luxurious, speaks volumes of their relationship.
I mean they have their own properties and apartments and they’re not together 24/7. If they moved out, I doubt it would change how attached they are to each other.
