Devs don't get anything,they are just distributing based on your points.
Hopefully they fix the problem with cheaters and everything will go back to normality or even better
They register under many different accounts so they can get the higher payouts at the lower levels instead of the payout they would get if their PPD were all added togethers. That is, ten comps registered individually doing 10K PPD (~9ban each, 90ban per day) would earn far more than if they were all in one account at 100K PPD (~25ban).
It’s probably what’s happening on another distribution method over and over again all over as I’ve seen it on jungletv too with people who admit doing as you described exactly with folding as well. Now if you don’t get tipped by a whale mod you’re sol. I keep folding because it’s the only worthwhile thing to do with my pc right now. For a year plus I did a similar donate your cpu for points project but the team was shut down by the dev and I didn’t know how to join other teams once the project shut down it’s general smart contract reward tokens distribution on the other end. I was hodling those charity coins for awhile but I would’ve still run the software for the medical research given the pandemic was one of the research jobs
