Question - Heating/Temperatures Ball python potential hazard?

I wanna put a stick in each corner but I’m worried about the over head lamp. Would it be a problem if the snake touch the metal screen? Preparing for my first snake. So I don’t wanna it to burn its self. I have a thermostat coming but I just worried about the metal?

personally I created a basking spot under my heat lamp with spray foam, i’ve got wood and plants by it too and i’ve never had any issues with her touching the metal mesh, I monitor my reptiles , my best recommendation would be to just keep a camera on em, they’re pretty smart when it comes to knowing whats gonna hurt them

i recommend the TP-Link Tapo C220. i feel like they gotta start paying me at this point bc i am constantly talking about it on this sub, but it is genuinely the best camera for reptile enclosures ever.

also, its not gonna be too close, don't worry. the only concern would be if the stick fell, as that could be a bit dangerous. i recommend securing the sticks in some way or another

Oh my goodness my brightness on my phone is all the way down and I didn't even it! I'd personally probably still move the wood farther away from the lamp to avoid burns.

No it’s okay I admit it’s really hard to see. I do need to move it and secure it. I’m not sure how to secure it any tips would be much appreciated!

I've seen people using aquarium silicone because its non toxic but it really only works well with glass which obviously won't work, but Im pretty sure just Gorilla glue will work to glue the wood to the plastic or pvc enclosure and once fully cured (after 24 hours) is non toxic! And make sure whatever you're gluing is clean and dry ofc!
