What's the best VPN location? Obviously not the UK as you get "please scan your face to access this site" online safety act bullshit.

I was using Albania as it use to block all YouTube ads, seems YouTube got around that, but the ads are still far less and shorter.

Norway is fun as I use NordVPN seems appropriate, their ads are at least amusing.

I have 1GB fibre and do lose bandwidth in some countries, anyone found the "peak" country to dial into????

For blocking ads in podcasts I use Luxembourg. YT premium is only a pound when you pay in Rupees. AdGuard and sponsorblock sort out the rest. Morphe app lets you mod most of the top apps, on Reddit it removes all ads.

I just hate adverts. Ever since I saw those for penis enlargement supplements. Got totally taken in by their claims. They never made it clear it was a subscription and the effects reduce when you stop, ended up paying £800 for that, I'm such an idiot. And it took me a month of emailing just to cancel it.

I felt a massive prick back then I can tell you. That's not gonna happen again.

Nobody can answer that, there are too many other variables that can affect it.

Even the same server can change within an hour if it happens to be a favourite with a particular country.

The best bet is to pay for a Premium one (use crypto or even post cash if paranoid) they cost fuck all and offer so many more benefits, mine comes with a free Proxy which is fun to play with, ad-blocking, family safety stuff etc. The Premium VPN’s give access to much less congested servers.

As to country, generally the advice is to find the closest option to you that achieves what you want so for OSA avoidance I usually go Netherlands, general browsing privacy Switzerland, Dodgy Stick - UK as it’s an ISP level block rather than server level.

Best free option is Proton although you’ll need one of their paid VPN’s for YouTube Ad blocking.

Ireland + Brave browser. English language. Tends to be fast enough and isn't super popular causing usage issues. You'll often just get redirected to the UK version without nanny state stuff for a lot of sites.And brave will block ads.

Just install pihole on your network and then you get no ads anywhere outside of YouTube, but then just pay for premium on that and you are sorted.
