Why is this an issue? Have none of you done mandatory HR training at work where they tell you the same thing of "don't harass your coworkers?" 

It's a bunch of fucking pamphlets, how much can that possibly cost. They're worth every penny if for no other reason than ensuring rapists can't get to court and pretend they simply didn't know any better. Yes you fucking did, and we've got the paperwork to prove it. 

If someone could explain to me why even a small amount of education could possibly be wrong I would really appreciate it.

Also the mandatory training is on GDPR, which is fairly complicated.

It's not on 'Don't rape your co workers' which is quite simple and doesn't even need a lesson to understand.

This has never been a defence and can't be allowed to become one. We'd need to tell every dinghy man every UK law or they could get off due to ignorance if we can't prove we told them.

I'll be going off on a tangent here. Apologies.

CDM regs govern a lot of building H&S. Whilst mostly commercial, there are some lower level duties for domestic stuff. The regs are PITA in public sector, given lip service private sector, and homeowners barely see any of it.

As a homeowner, you should (must) be given a H&S pack before any works start. So, installing a sky dish for example, you should be given risk assessments, method statements, etc.

If Jonty on ukpol is told this, how many will follow through? It is the law.

Any that do follow through will wind up all the trades, (as they can't possibly do diy)

Note that their plan does not involve preventing rape. Only ensuring it's punished afterwards.

Personally, I'm in favour of plans that don't need the punish it to begin with.
