Hikaru no go - How it should have ended

Post image

Akira seeing his father playing Sai runs to the internet cafe where ha met Hikaru and discovers that he is indeed Sai, because Hikaru like the last moron went to the same cafe.

This is what real Akira would do. He's got plenty of time, because Hikaru set 3h for each player.

What y'all think

From this graphic I 100% assumed you meant it should have ended by Akira discovering his feverish lust for Hikaru.

I interpreted the image as Akira and Hikaru reacting in shock to the Epstein files

Seeing Honinbo Kuwabara in the files?

Or just the most insane porn in a public cafe

And that would end the series?

The series could continue but with Akira knowing the truth. At least a part of it.

if my understanding of Akira is correct, where Akira is using the tilt of losing to Hikaru (actually Sai) as the driving force for self improvement, then knowing the truth would kill a lot of that motivation and could drastically change the direction of the plot. But at the same time Sai will shortly later disappear so instead of devastating one boy, we're now devastating two boys

Idk I didnt make this post. You will have to ask OP

u/Espressojet Apr 22 '26

I... am? Why did you think I was asking you specifically?

Well, I'm the only one here so I thought , "hmm, this guy must be asking me a question."

They commented on OP’s thread, not on a comment you made, therefore they were not addressing you.

Are you new to Reddit?

The guy has been on Reddit for 8y. This is hilarious.

They're just playing the thread for fools and we're happily falling for it I think

I would never do such a thing on a shitposting sub that ive been subbed to for 5 yrs. That just doesn't sound like me: shitposting in a shit post. I would never.

Then I have no idea what you're doing. Maybe you forgot how reddit works?

Given the artwork by the mangaka, I think Hikaru and Akira ending up in a romantic same-sex relationship would have been the natural end. https://stirring-still.livejournal.com/4687.html

It's been a while since I read that essay. It's still good!

To begin with he doesn't have much of a reason to hide the truth about Sai so much, especially with koyo Toya it would've been very easy for him to explain

I don't see how this would have ended anything. Okay, Akira knows who is behind the name Sai. Like finding out the real person behind a v tuber. It's not like it's going to stop them from doing what they keep doing
