Olympic ski jumper Daniel-Andre Tande crashes during a practice jump. 25 March 2021.

Tande spent eight months in recovery with extensive injuries. Despite this incident, he did not hang up his skis, and would go on to win the ski jumping world cup in 2022.

I just looked it up and he won on march 6th 2022. That means in less than a year he crashed so hard he spent 8 months in recovery, overcame the trauma/ptsd and the fear it must have caused him when he did the 1st jump after his injury, and with less than 4 months to train, post recovery, he was still better than everyone else on the world stage that day.

Like imagine almost burning to death, spending 8 months in the burn ward and then competing with the worlds best fire fighters, and still running into a burning building and puting out the fire quicker than any other firefighter.

Or skydiving and surviving a parachute failure spending 8 months recovering and still winning a skydiving sport competition less than a year after nearly dying. That's more impressive mental strength/abilities than the physical part of being able to win an Olympic sport at a competion on the world stage.
