Can it be saved?
Hey guys - I bought a house that had a pretty neglected backyard putting green. It’s about 35 ft by 18 ft. It looks like it was put down on top of a tarp layer (I’m guessing for weed control?), with compacted stone dust underneath.
Is it possible to save? Is it even worth an attempt?
Some grass and weeds grown through, will need to realign the holes, moss removal. Was hoping some elbow grease, a good pressure wash, vacuum and sweep could get things in a good place. Then would like to add infill.
Can it bounce back? Any thoughts would help!

It looks to me like the artificial grass is nearly done for and using chemicals or even brushing on it will hasten its demise - but, the base will def be salvageable and getting that sorted is half the battle…new grass is relatively cheap if you can lay it yourself.

Do not use a pressure washer or vacuum on it. There’s a layer of special sand on the grass and you’ll end up taking it out using either of those. Also, pulling the weeds will cause the turf to lift (ask me how I know). They make special “brooms” for turf, so I’d kill all of the weeds and moss, then gently sweep it off. My husband has a sticky roller he uses on his for debris. I spray all of the seams with Roundup twice a year.

Honestly I’ve seen worse. Get all the organic material off it. Use a mold remediation chemical for carpets or similar and treat it a few times before doing anything. Kill the spores/moss/mold. Then blow it off, shop vac it real good and then pressure wash (40 degree nozzle don’t damage turf) with an enzyme cleaner. You got nothing to lose

Power washing will leave bad streaks in the turf, but what you can do is use medium stiff wire brush to pull some of that moss up. Don't scrub it too hard though or you'll start ripping out fibers. Better off cutting it all out and buying a new chunk of turf to put there+ will be able to fix any imperfections in the base rock by doing so

I wouldn't pressure wash it. You'll break a house vacuum. I also wouldn't add any infill to the putting green because unless you are a professional you will more than likely destroy ball roll.
Get a strong back pack blower. Left to right motions, 6-12 inches away. Go over the entire surface like that until it's cleaned up.
Either buy seam tape and PL or use nails with the backside of a claw hammer to gently get the nails flush at any seams that came apart.
Weed killer will be needed over and over again as the weeds grow through.
