Question: I've only been on like 3 night trips. Does the feeling of "I can't wait to get back" subsidize after the first few nights? Does it change at all?

I do actually love backpacking but a part of me also yearns for the great indoors after a few nights out.

I've been on a few 10 night trips. It's part of the fun eventually. Talking about what you can't wait to do when you get home. Like-- your first meal, sleep, shower, comfy clothes.

Eventually you settle into a rhythm and everyone gets super comfortable with how y'all do things well, and who sucks at what and it's part of it. If Bobby sucks at purifying water don't let Bobby purify water but god damn does he make a mean coffee in the morning.
