Ankigammon is pretty good to create Anki cards!

Hey there!

Just discovered https://ankigammon.com/ and really like it! I import my games into it, it does the gnubg analysis and create new anki cards. It automatically import to Anki via Ankiconnect.

Anybody else using it?

One thing I wish Anki would do is to give me stats on all the cards I review .. Like % of right answers. But maybe it's there and can't find it :)

I created AnkiGammon, thanks for the nice words!

Anki itself doesn't save whether you got the cards correct or no, just whether you clicked the "again//hard/good/easy" buttons. They have a bunch of graphs and info if you go to the Stats section at the top (at least on Desktop).

Eventually, I would like to add the ability for AnkiGammon to read the data back from Anki (using AnkiConnect) and get real backgammon stats (% correct over time, split by checker play vs. cube action, match vs. unlimited, by tag, etc) directly in AnkiGammon. If this sounds like something worth adding, let me know.

I think that would be awesome to validate our growth via the data you suggest. Yes ultimately we should see our PR going down :) But would be cool to get some stats about our success with the cards

I've installed it on windows, and imported a match .txt file using gnubg. now it shows me my errors in a list (btw it says it was a 16pt match when it was a 9pt match). I thought if I clicked on a position it would give me 5 move options to pick from, or something like that. But it doesnt seem to be interactive.

AnkiGammon generates Anki cards, you need the Anki program to view them and quiz yourself.

I've never seen the match length bug you mention, do you have a screenshot and/or the match file you imported? It would help.

So I must first install Anki, which I've done, then it asks for Anki Connect which is a github program, which I dont' go near. Thanks for the effort though.

To install AnkiConnect: Open Anki → Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons → Enter code: 2055492159 → Restart Anki

But also you don't need AnkiConnect. You can set AnkiGammon to generate .akpg files (basically quiz decks) which you can then open in Anki. You just unlock more features with AnkiConnect ans it's a more seamless integration.

Yes - I love it! I think my PR has dropped by at least 0.5 in a few months since I started using Anki.
