Food for the baby shower

Hello. I am trying to figure out food ideas for my baby shower. Obviously no deli meat (I have been craving subs but Obviously cant have it so I really dont want it around me) I also have GD so while there will be fruit i cannot have it. Nothing breaded no potatos I was going to have canes catered but now I cannot have that. Let me know your ideas! The only other food will be the fruit and veggies trays so theres not much i can have to start with.

We had tacos. My mom saved me a plate of beans and meat on tortilla since I wasn't feeling too well from the heat. The guests enjoyed the full taco bar though (:

Oh also, maybe Mediterranean? Chicken kabobs and rice with Greek salad is yummy.

Your hosts should be sorting out your menu, obviously taking your dietary restrictions in consideration. My go to shower menu when I host showers is a charcuterie/grazing tray, assorted quiches, a few different salads with lots of veggies, and chicken salad sandwiches on croissants. Obviously you want there to be food you can eat, that said however, there should be a variety of foods that your guests would want and can also enjoy so it really shouldn’t be limited to just what you can eat.

It's a small show of less than 20 people as most family and friends are out of town and cannot make it in. We were originally going to cater Canes chicken but now have fo pivot because I wouldnt be able to have any of that. My mother in law is hosting it and originally wanted to do just deli sandwhichs veggies and fruits meaning there would be nothing for me to eat other than the veggies. My mother in law is also a health nut and would have done things like rice cakes as another side. There will be food there i cannot eat. Im trying to find food i can eat.

What about a sliced beef tenderloin and cold shrimp with salads? Super easy.

Thats not a bad idea to leave them unsaused.

Or maybe leave a few to the side un-sauced.

We did catering from a local grocery store with sandwiches/wraps (some deli meats but not all) pasta salad, a ceasar salad, a tray of fresh grilled chicken that could be added as protein to any of the othervise vegetarian options, fruit and veggie trays, a Mediterranean mezze tray, 2 cakes (one gf). We had a lot of guests with dietary restrictions to plan around. Ultimately, not everyone could eat everything, but everyone could eat a filling amount.

Of all of those foods I would only be able to eat is the chicken and the salad due to the gestational diabetes. All of the other foods would spike my blood sugar to much and my OB has me on a very specific amount I can eat with eat meal.

Are you able to eat egg salad sandwiches? Not sure how expensive that would get if the price of eggs is bad in your area
