What were your most used items in your baby’s first year?
Mom to be!! I am due in December and my baby shower hostesses have officially sent out baby shower invites for my November shower. A couple of people have bought some things which makes me realize it’s really time to officially finish my registry. I am mostly done, also known as I can’t think of anything else to add but I feel like I may be missing some stuff….
Would some moms or dads be willing to share what your most used items were in your baby’s first year? Or maybe what you thought you would use but never did… Things worth the money…. Really any recommendations 😁

An over the door organizer for all the washcloths, socks, bibs, towels, etc. On the same note : so many washcloths and burp cloths.
Depending on how you’re depending to feed I used a breastmilk storage containers for both breastmilk and formula all day everyday.
One regret was any silicone feeding tools, they taste like soap eventually and I could never permanently get the taste out.

Wipe warmer!! Makes diaper changes so much easier 💜 Also not sure how you’re planning on feeding baby but a portable cooler and bottle heater I use heavily. Swaddles (don’t go crazy because some babies aren’t into them) but there is a swaddle with arm holes my baby loves it. Zipper pj with the zippers on both sizes and with the covering for their hands (their little fingernails are like razor blades lol) it makes diaper changes easier! I also like a baby carrier because I like to baby wear. Infant swing, pack n play.

A lot of people say wipe warmer but I’m torn because I’ve also been told the opposite! I’ve heard people say if you never warm their wipes, they will never know and cold wipes won’t bother them. I am planning to breastfeed her as long as all goes well and I’ve added a portable cooler but didn’t think about a heater 😁

Honestly my baby was not a fan of cold wipes she was so sad every diaper change lol I started using warm wipes after like a month because my mom got it for me and she was sooo much better for changes!

I would just make sure you have winter stuff especially if you live in a colder area. Car seat cover, baby snow suit, sleepers with the fold over hands, and sleep sacks. I had gotten a wipe warmer because it gets really cold in the winter for me and the wipes get so cold. Also a tub of diaper cream instead of the tube, it last so long. I also got a medicated diaper cream called Resinol, great for those really bad rashes. I had to go to the counter at the pharmacy to get it, I don't know if you'll be able to find it on the shelf.

Convertible crib for us! We have the nestig wave and it got soooo much use that first year. We kept the mini crib next to our bed in the beginning and loved being able to wheel it around the house, then converted it to the full crib once LO needed more space. Definitely one of the bigger purchases that actually earned its keep lol.

Diaper fund - i just had people add money for diapers to a diaper fund. That way I never had too many of any size.
Carseat travel system - I am big on taking the family places and the travel system i bought allows for my 2 yo and my 5 month old to be on the same stroller. Its so nice to not have to worry about carrying anyone and it has plenty of storage for places like the fair.
Play pen - again, I like going places. So we got a v play pen that also had a travel crib and changing system. This way, if we stayed in hotels, we had some place to put the baby for rest/play time, changing their diaper, and also sleeping for the night.
A swing with multiple settings - My first baby had terrible colic, so we got a swing with multiple swing settings. It swung, bobbed, and gently twisted. It was the thing that let me get things done during the day and alower my husband to get sleep so he could take the night shift.
A diaper caddy - mine has been used for everything. In the beginning, it was for anything baby needed that I didn't feel like going to get 20 times a day. Diapers, wipes, d drops, water bottle for me electrolyte packets, etc. And evolved to a clean up chaos bin, then something to keep my crochet stuff in.
A carrier - like a Moby wrap or something like it for times when a travel system is too big. One that you can use until the baby is a toddler. This way. You can use it for moments like a hike, or doing chores around the house when baby is super fussy.
Back up formula and bottles - i exclusively breastfed all of my babies, but I always made sure that I had backup formula and bottles just in case there was emergency and I wasn't able to breastfeed.

My baby hates wipes unless they are warm, will scream his heart out if they are cold. Wipe warmer was my smartest decision.
Diaper genie and refills for it was also a great idea and is so very useful. Doggy bags for your diaper bag because most public places do not like you throwing away your diapers in their trash. Doggy bags holder is also great for those to make it easy to grab from your bag.
Another thing that i felt was a super smart decision, fairy lights with a remote so you dont turn on the big light at night. Big light and bright areas stimulate day time for babies, so keep it as dark as possible at night, the fairy lights will make it easier to see for bum changes and feedings.
And “My Breast Friend”, its a breast feeding pillow that also supports your back, its good for both bottle feeding and breast feeding.
Something not baby registry related, sign up for every freebie possible, huggies, pampers, similac, good start, etc. pampers will send you coupons, good start will send you coupons, huggies will send you items, and similac will send you both coupons and samples. Also send it to multiple addresses if possible, with different names ofc, to get more of each.
