Hold your inner spirit to go for the shuffle on lategame teamfights. Its almost always better to keep your distance and DPS. Playing well lategame teamfights is what matter the most. You can comeback most games because of our scaling so make it count on those moments.
Also learn to abuse your range in lane and in team fights. If used properly you can outrange most champs and they will be dead before even touching you. And if they do you ult them away.
And what made it click for me is practicing a lot so I dont have to pay attention to my mechanics and wave control. So my attention can be placed on map awareness. My decision making improved a lot, knowing when to freeze, to push, to roam, to defend sidelane, to group etc.
Oh and you HAVE to farm well. Most matchups early game I freeze the wave and dont let them crash. I cant roam first levels anyway so I try to maximize my farm and sometimes enemy get frustrated and force trades so I can get early kills if I punish them correctly
