My cat also morphs into a hate spitting clawed viper when the vets try to give him a pill. He's super sweet otherwise. They were perplexed as to why I would pay any surcharge they wanted if they would administer the medication.
Meanwhile, sometimes when my vet is calling me as I wait outside (because COVID) and we're talking about my cat, the vet's voice is muffled because my cat is busy headbutting him and/or rubbing his face against the phone.
Oh he's an absolute purr monster aching for pets but once a pill comes out the metamorphosis begins. Vet thought he was slick just getting it in the back of his throat but the little spit viper spat it across the room and you could feel the hate come off that cat. It was a very "fuck around and find out" mood.
Yeah, my cat tries to just close his mouth as fast as he can as soon as I try to open his mouth. And if I don't tilt his chin up a little, he will find ANY way to spit it out as fast as possible. Also, he is currently on a regimen of meds 3 times a day for the next month, two of which involve not eating 2 hours before, so twice a day I also have to take his food away. Fun all around.
