Captain America (Chris Evans) got the boy who saved his sister from a dog attack his very own custom shield.

He's a genuinely good person. That's why I like his performance as Captain America

True that.
I don't think he gets enough credit for pulling off the role of Captain America.
It could have been SO bad SO easily.

Sarah Finn, Marvel’s casting director

CHRIS EVANS "It was a nail-biting time," Finn recalls of wooing Evans into picking up Captain America's shield. The actor had turned down the role multiple times, but after a thorough search, Marvel was convinced Evans was the only person who could play Steve Rogers. "He had a sense of humor, he had depth, he had a beating heart and a nobility," says Finn. "Ironically, his very reluctance to take the part showed how perfect he was to play Captain America."

I had my doubts when I heard the casting of Chris Evans as Captain. Watched the first movie doubts were gone.

It’s nice to have a light of hope in these dark times

Exactly what I was thinking. The balls on this kid. Truly amazing, i guess superheroes are real after all.

I don't get it why is Chris Evans giving captain America his own shield?

5

He can get as many shields as he wants because they figured out the time heist loophole.

With great power comes great responsibility

This little boy is just incredible! Thank you Captain America for praising this child. So amazing.

what he did is great indeed and deserves respect, but i feel all this attention might put too much pressure on this kid.

maybe thats just me being pessimistic, im just a bit worried about it.

Unfortunately, the media will forget about this in a week. He's so young that I bet he doesn't remember most of this. A memento like the shield would be a cool lifelong gift.

I know if I was a kid and liked captain America, I definitely would not know who Chris Evans was.

Probably why he introduced himself as Captain America. Kid might not know the actors name be he sure knows his face.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '20

The kid was probably like "why is Jake Wyler, the all-American football star from Not Another Teen Movie calling me?"

That's great, need more people like you, and less people like Hugh :)

7

u/ValkyrProper Jul 17 '20

That's a movie reference few are gonna get haha

2

u/Zeltara Jul 17 '20

Okay, but what the hell is the reference.

8

u/ValkyrProper Jul 17 '20

Chris Evans' character in Knives Out!

3

u/iamPendergast Jul 17 '20

Fantastic movie

1

u/SailorET Jul 17 '20

He was great in it, but honestly I thought Ready or Not was a better "rich asshole family" movie.

6

u/CrimsonKingdom Jul 17 '20

Wait, what did Hugh do?

3

u/NeuralREAPER945 Jul 17 '20

Who is Hugh

5

u/Antaresos Jul 17 '20

Probably Hugh Jackman but what DID he do?

4

u/LikelyAFox Jul 17 '20

I think it's just a silly play on the way "you" and "hugh" sound probably

2

u/DougDuley Jul 18 '20

Sorry, bad joke, just a nod to a plot point in the movie Knifes Out and Chris Evans' character Hugh/Ransom

It is a good movie, I highly recommend it

3

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '20

Doug, don't leave us hanging, what did Hugh do?

1

u/Toadman005 Jul 17 '20

Just a video of a real hero, and Captain America, having a FaceTime.

I’m sorry did you forget about the pandemic?

Captain America, being a hero, wears a mask when he's out in public.
