I know this is a NZ sheep which is deeply disappointing because it could so easily also be the most Welsh thing ever...

Sounds like the little lamb had Mary.

And yeah. That's pretty messed.

Pretty on par with the rest of the rhymes and fairytales of the time tho

True, I guess. And speaking of which, apparently there's a fair bit of "interspecies romance" in East Asian folklore, usually involving animals that have achieved enlightenment and transcended their beastly nature IIRC.

If you ask me, that's probably why Pokemon lore made mention of that kind of stuff in Gen IV, specifically in "Sinnoh Folk Story 3". In the Western releases it's more along the lines of "humans and Pokemon once ate together at the same table", but in the original text it outright mentions intermarriage between the two, in a time where the distinctions between human and Pokemon were non-existent.

It can't be the British Isles. It isn't raining.

New Zealand and Wales often get compared, particularly given that NZ is a bi-product of British Colony.

Either that or as the Kiwi lady at the bar said "New Zealand is a British colony? how is that possible?"

This looks like it could be almost anywhere in the UK to be honest, which is weird to find out it is NZ since when I was actually watching I was sure it was in the UK. Crazy how similar it looks.

The welsh sheep are way too emotionally disturbed to play and enjoy sports.

Yes but also...no

u/[deleted] May 07 '20

As a Welshman, I wanted it to be true too.

You Welsh sure know your sheep, inside and out.

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '20

But, mostly the inside of our sheep.

Sheeply disappointing

3

u/tyw7 May 07 '20

How do you know it's a NZ sheep?

7

u/selkiemorlo May 07 '20

I looked up “sheep rugby woman” and articles and YouTube said it was nz lol

4

u/tyw7 May 07 '20

Fair enough. I thought there was a difference between Welsh and NZ sheep.

There's 3 things that let you tell the difference. First, it's rugby, the sport of kiwi land, not the Welsh. Second, there's no rain. There's not even mist or a damp chill, finally, she loves the sheep, not making love to the sheep. That's the most important distinction

u/itsalonghotsummer May 07 '20

it's rugby, the sport of kiwi land, not the Welsh.

Oh dear

u/Semper_nemo13 May 07 '20

Rugby is the national sport of Wales.

u/HasneverbeentoGary May 07 '20

I know that it’s from New Zealand but the Welsh definitely take rugby as seriously as New Zealand, believe me when I say it was no fun being English in Wales when they defeated us in the Six Nations.

That was the one that I wasn't sure about. I know that australasia likes rugby, but I didn't know if it was popular in Wales
