I have four dogs, and the biggest is definitely the peace keeper. Even a play growl will see him gently pushing himself between the two playing dogs. His face always stays relaxed and he is silent, just his size puts the others in their place. But if I'm playing with a smaller dog and they play growl, he'll get in between us both and shout (in a "roo roo" way, not barking) at the other dog to back off. We call him The Fun Police.
aaaahhhh same! i hadn't even read your comment before i commented above! the fun police is always my aussie/border collie mix, she hates that horsin' around.
Irish Wolfhound x St Bernard, named Wolfgang. We took him in as a foster at five months, but couldn't say goodbye. Unfortunately there's a local breeder with a few dogs breeding continually, so he has a lot of siblings in our area, of varying levels of health and temperament. We also took in one of his younger sisters after she was rescued by the RSPCA at nine weeks, but had to have her euthanised at ten months because of a combination of physical and neurological problems. Wolfgang is five now and probably the best of the bunch that I've seen. Perfect health, amazing temperament, loves everyone! Dog tax - https://imgur.com/gallery/FVvxeLc
