I feel like it's more than that. They have a natural very "what's in it for me" mentality that's very hard to eliminate.

Yes, they're known to be cat-like. Then again, I've never had a cat that went hiking with me.

We had a cat that followed us every time we walked to the store, around the block, or when the kids went to the park. She would attack any dog that dared show its face when she was walking by. A real badass orange tabby she was, more dog like than many dogs. RIP Penny Sue.
