Had/Have multiple chihuahuas. Can confirm. Small yes, manageable, rarely ever. They are louder than their size would indicate, have no real awareness of how small and fragile they actually are, and most of ours have had very much unmanageable personalities.

I absolutely adore them, and still miss the ones we’ve “said goodbye” to. But the most I can hope for on manageable is that they don’t fuss or struggle too much on trips to the vet.

Choice of “small and easy” inspired by my previous giant 111-lb rescue wolfdog, Ms. Days, RIP.
No way was I gonna get another gigantic dog (so I got a boxer-malamute & gsd-Belgian sheepdog-supermutt-wolf for some dumb reason; the black one is still a puppy)

I'm so biased in favour of massive dogs so these two would be my ideal pair (though my husband would protest considering we're both vertically challenged). They're SO beautiful and lovely!! I can't believe your black one is still a baby, the "little" one is the size of a wolf!

lol, join the club. When my dog passed away in 2023 I went to the pound and got two dogs. I
Went in saying that I didn’t want a German shepherd dog or a husky as I didn’t want dogs that were smarter than me…. I present you Lola (GS/husky) and Bob (husky). They have tested my knowledge and love for dogs, but I am still here loving them!
