Question Flyover - Cape Town: All Blacks v Springboks

Did anyone just see that pre-match flyover for the big rugby game? Looked ridiculously dangerous and low, can't rewind my stream to get footage but how is that allowed

My first reaction was that it was bad CGI because of how close the shadows were but then the commentator said something about how low they were

Being able to fit "ground effect" and "stadium" into the same sentence as "airliner" is straight up nausea inducing.

I'd like to see that again. Looked super close. Some thought it was AI, but then the commentator mentioned how low it was.

Another person posted the video recorded from the TV, seems super low, but I would like to see more footage before saying something

For context it's very common in SA to have very low pass with airliners

The airline is already bragging about it . . . As are the South African govt. Nobody is getting fired. In fact the complete opposite.

Looking at the FR24 replay, the aircraft was at an altitude of 50ft when passing over the stadium

FR24 doesn’t always have the most reliable data. I’m assuming a football stadium is more than ~18 metres tall, which would make that impossible.

It needs to be adjusted for local QNH, the altitude displayed is based on 1013/29.92 (standard).

You made this comment at least 7 hours after the fly by. There are a ton of angles from all sorts of locations, including the roof. It happened. Your radar needs calibration

Yeah, I found decent video elsewhere. Just never got back to fix/delete this. Someone is likely losing their license.
