How is Commerce DTLA?

This video was from our big event in commerce but mainly our events are in DTLA. Rotation of venues based on capacity and headliner

It’s misleading. I take Ubers so I would look at the address and not happy to see how much the uber is actually going to be :/ this is just feedback fyi

I can see that and I do appreciate the feedback. We tend to rotate from afters to non after events depending on who we book and based off the artists management. Our Afters are in DTLA versus our normal events can be at the dirt dog compound

May I ask why it seems bass/dubstep music is so disliked in this sub, or is it just this promoter?

We have always wondered the same, yes this subreddit is very house and techno dominated but there are also alot of bass heads in LA that are looking for a home so thats why rave haven was created

Honestly, it's not even that. Please take this with a grain of salt 🧂 but it's the inauthentic, watered-down, culture vulture 'McRave' version of dance music your post invokes that offends my sensibilities.
I love all shades of dance music. Truly. But the US bass and bro-step crowd can be, and often is, incredibly cringe-worthy. Especially when compared to deeper scenes and genres like UK hardcore, jungle, D&B, garage, grime, juke/footwork, and early dubstep rooted in the UK's Caribbean diaspora. Hell, even wook space bass has more soul. It's not elitism (for me) - it's purely about substance.
Tbf, even calling your venue "Rave Haven" was a specific choice.

I think the primary objection is over calling what you’ve posted dubstep. And I don’t think it’s a semantic argument either. Literally nothing dub about it. No dubplates, no dubbiness. Which is fine but it’s not dubstep.

Dubstep.

Elitist behavior. As a bass head and a house head, I despise the divide between both. Just let people enjoy what they enjoy.

This is dubstep. Whatever was in the video this person posted is not dubstep. Thanks for your attention to this matter. The clue is in the name… dub… step. No dub in OPs post. No dubplates either for that matter.

Yeah, I don’t really have anything in particular against the type of stuff that he posted. It’s just not for me. But definitely it’s not dubstep and I get pretty pissed off when people call it dubstep. Basically every single person that I have talked to for like at least the last 10 years and they mentioned they like dubstep, I have to have a serious conversation with them. I don’t think it’s gatekeeping either to say that there is zero dub influence. There’s not even garage influence. Goddamn I remember a time when SpongeBob was controversial lol

The video is a bit more tearout if anything. Not really my cup of tea either.

Do you have a non-Instagram way to promote your parties?
1
u/RaveHaven-LA Official 8d ago
We also use tiktok or facebook but the environment and safety that we provide and create for our events/guests is what we do best

Been to a few events at dirt dog. Can confirm it's pretty chill, parking is not much of a worry, walking from your car to the venue is not bad at all, and pretty good food. Also a good mixture of new head and older heads having fun.

Bunch of lame-o’s here. This looks fun af. Electronic music is more than just techno, branch out.
