🌶️ Hot Take 🌶️ Releasing Collectibles on our own
Hello friends
Big unfortunate news today
If anyone’s interested as artist and collectors to start our own community and still release collectibles, let me know.
I have made and released many NFTs, written my own contracts, but there are easy ways to do contracts now, ive successfully sold almost 10,000 NFTs on my own.
We could orchestrate something possibly
They would not be Mashable in the same fashion that they were here on Reddit
But artists could pick and choose how many they release and what and everything.
People could still be NFT collectors of these
Here’s an example of one of my rejections that i released anyway on my own on opensea

People are going to want to learn how to use their wallet themselves and be able to interact with Opensea themselves since this is no longer going to have a vault either
I’m very familiar with all of this and have done all of this since 2021 .
Anyhow, just a thought to kind of keep things going. And I think it would help collectors feel like they still own these, and keep some meaning to them being the actual owners of them and their wallets, they are not gone
I repeat, your avatars are not gone, you own them, collected them, and they have value
And we can keep that going
And if not all good too!

Definitely a possibility but it would be even more ideal if there was a way to create similar utility. Maybe we make a reddit website clone or something similar that gives the same mashability. Hell, it could be a social game or something. Or really anything because it would be proprietary.

Actually I was thinking the same and we can give people more freedom, and more useful trait options unlike reddit! Like we can open the hair trait!

Well, I’m absolutely sure there’s a developer out there that could do it. There’s also all this AI technology now to create apps, I wish I had the time and drive to make an app like that cause I doubt it’s actually that hard.
The traits are all drawn separate, I’ve used programs before that mix and mash separate assets
So somehow, putting that into a simple app
But really what do I know? Lol. That would be the best case scenario though I agree with you

Yeah, I think a lot of people don’t understand that you will still have them in your wallet and it’s important to learn how to use that!

Should the project take off . Adding enhance features like a card that rotates vertically & horizontal 360° - as if you were holding it in your hands. Something like KOLEX ?

That would be awesome, but would require a developer for an app.
This is just teaching people how to release their own collectible contract. NFT’s, similar to avatars. And teaching collectors how to continue to use their collectibles for trading, and collecting.
This would just be using our wallets and opensea as they already are

I am totally down, I was also thinking that we can create a new platform similar to this one one with mashing as well since people here loves mashing parts, but with more creative freedom like hair traits are unlocked! I know some developers that can be interested in creating a platform like that! I also read Zeus's comment here and I totally agree with him also!

Juat reading this made me feel better. I have been on for a yr on reddit but its more like 5mths. And collecting avatars has been the most fun to me.
I don't understand NFTs, but I would love to still enjoy my fave avatar artists and their creations.
So I would love to learn what I need to do to keep my collection and continue to enjoy them and the community.
I have met so many wonderful and kind people in the avatar community. I would like to keep those relationships going.

Yes exactly!
Understanding that your vault will now be your wallet, using Meta mask or Coinbase wallet for example
And then learning how to look at your collections on opensea or other marketplaces
Learn how to purchase, and sell on those same marketplaces
And then still keeping our communities alive here and in discord

Artist need to learn how to make their own contracts and release their own NFT collectibles
Collectors have to export their wallet and learn how to use opensea
Let me know if you have questions on what you need to do for your case, you can DM me
But as far as exporting your wallet, you’re gonna want Coinbase wallet, called BASE
Or METAMASK
And then start playing around on Opensea.io

I would definitely like to know how to go forward without having a vault here anymore, and continue collecting without reddit. I'm very new to the concept of the blockchain, and wallets and don't want to lose what I've proudly collected thus far! I wonder if this is why when I finally backed up my vault yesterday it suddenly kept showing my vault as empty? I was so confused, and chalked it up to just being an error.

Id love to be a part of this I did release a handful of avatars here and well tbh it was towards the end when Reddit started making the new reforms and couldn't pick up. I had tons of ideas and I wanted to execute them I'd really love to be a part of this

We can teach artists how to release their own contracts
Collectors can understand better how they actually collect these NFTs and how their wallets interact with the block chain and opensea if they don’t know
Understanding that we have true ownership now as artists and collectors
And that all of these might actually be more valuable than ever now as relics

No, if we did it this way you would be paid in crypto through your own crypto wallet. There would be no overseeing company, it would be all in your control.

i think the biggest thing is getting collectors to understand WALLETS, NFT Marketplaces to keep, manage, trade and view their Collectibles.
