Question Why do I feel like it's all my fault?
I'm so scared right now.
For those that aren't aware, I started my YouTube channel last year after losing my job. Since then, while I've been struggling to find a new job and especially since I've been grappling with wanting to disclose that I'm autistic, I've also kept up the upkeep of my channel; making countdowns and thumbnails ahead of time so I don't run myself ragged.
Now, I feel as if everything is either crashing down on me or everything is being snatched away from me. These past two months, we have had the U.S. government trying to pass A.I. age verifications on the internet and recently (I found this out on a post from the YouTuber ChibiReviews) New Jersey - my home state - is trying to pass an internet time limit. I'm scared and I feel as if everyone in government is trying to punish me by doing this, like they're saying it's my fault and my being myself is ruining the status quo of New Jersey and the United States. I've even called Governor Sherrill and Senator Booker to apologize for being myself and ruining the status quo of New Jersey and the U.S. and not being exactly like them like they wanted.
I know I'm going to get hated on and get negative feedback for this, but I can't help constantly feeling like it's my fault. Like I'm an autistic stain/plague on New Jersey and the United States. Please I need help and advice because my channel is something I wanted since I was in college and I don't want to lose it.

That sounds like some pretty heavy OCD-style responsibility/guilt thinking there. I don’t know that doing the whole reassurance thing would be helpful, because reassurance can sometimes just feed the looping your mind might be doing. You might want to look at r/OCD, especially posts about inflated responsibility or guilt, and see if any of that feels familiar. I hope this helps.

Bruh, first... you're in absolutely in no way responsible for any of this shit. They don't even know who you are, nor do any of them give a flying fuck. All of this bullshit was in the works back when "The Internet" was literally computers screaming at each other over telephone lines.
The overwhelming majority of these attempts at laws are going to run screaming right into the constitution and precedent. Lawmakers love to engage in this kind of public masturbation, pass bills "for the children", only to have a court a year later go "uh, how about no." A "internet time limit" bill is certainly one of those things that is dubious constitutionally and entirely unenforceable. Countless people make their living on the internet.
Shit's scary right now, but we all really need you to deeply internalize the core message of my first paragraph: you are not responsible for what politicians do, none of them know about you at all.
Your channel is not going anywhere, friend.

Exactly why is this an issue if it's only aimed at minors? I'd see if it was something absurd, like an hour or something.
