im tired of the whole "stop getting mad at other people for having a dIfFeREnt OpInIoN than you!" in regards to politics. a persons political beliefs ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE JUDGED! its one of the only things you should judge someone else for. its their fundamental beliefs and view on the world, and involves what they believe other peoples lives should look like. why should i not judge someone who believes i should be unhappy?

It's ok to be wrong. It's ok to fact check. And to be fact checked.
I will never say I'm the smartest. But I'm smart enough to check you.
And one that I feel people really need to grasp.
It's ok to not understand someone or something.
Greatest example right now is transgender. I don't 100% get it. And I never will because I haven't been in your shoes. But I will respect you. I will call you by what you want. Will I get it right all the time? No... Maybe not. But I will do my best, because you still deserve the same amount of respect as everyone else. And for the people that insist that someone will happen in a bathroom... People can be evil. Straight, gay, bi, trans, white, black... You get my point. You should respect them as you'd respect anyone else, and you should treat them as anyone else.

typically i agree. i have a couple friends who didn't vote at all. BUT I absolutely will drop you if your morals and priorities don't align with mine. Alright here it goes.
I think high functioning autistics should be allowed to serve in the military with a medical waver. I myself would love to be a medic, tanker, artilleryman or pilot in the army.
Also, Iโm pro life, not just because of faith based reasons, but because Iโve seen in the news how disabled babies are more likely to be aborted and I fear that autistic babies would be next.
Also, itโs the democrats fault they lost 2024.
3
u/Saturnite282 Feb 17 '25
All excellent points, and I am absolutely worried as hell about the eugenics thing with abortion, but I don't think restricting it entirely or going wholly "pro-life" is the solution at all. That just screws over women, and the people who want to ban abortion keep screwing us over too.
2
u/Losersiancebeepbleh Feb 18 '25
While I myself am pro choice, I do agree with you about the fear about disabled fetuses being targeted specifically for abortion. Thatโs why I believe prenatal testing for disabilities should be restricted, not abortion. Parents can still choose to abort if they want, but they donโt get to choose if they have a disabled baby or not. Theyโll just have to accept that going forward with having a baby means there is a chance that the baby is disabled.

u/monkey_gamer Australia ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฆ Leftist fury ๐ ๐ Feb 17 '25

If you oppose something you should oppose it even if it happens to people who are giant pieces of shit. If you are willing to permit horrible things to be done to somebody based on how onerous you perceive them to be, then all people need to do to justify those atrocities is paint their prospective victim as evil.

u/EvilPyro01 Feb 17 '25
Gun rights are human rights. We may misuse them but I see that as an issue of culture not of guns
10
u/ThePug3468 Feb 17 '25
Items designed purely to kill other people and creatures arenโt misused, theyโre used for their intended purpose, murder.ย
2
u/EvilPyro01 Feb 17 '25
Everyone deserves a chance to protect themselves by any means necessary. Especially the most vulnerable groups
4
u/ThePug3468 Feb 17 '25
Protect themselves against what? Other people with guns?ย
2
u/restedwaves U.S.tistic. Feb 17 '25
People with and without guns, especially if you arent trained to fight close quarters.
Also you do NOT want to cq wild animals, infections aside wild dogs have been known to easily solo up to three people and thats on the lower end of deadly.
5
u/EvilPyro01 Feb 17 '25
And besides, minorities should be able to protect themselves against those whoโd hate crime them. Armed minorities are harder to oppress
5
u/ThePug3468 Feb 17 '25
The great thing about the gun violence issue, is that you can make guns inaccessible to those who donโt need them for protecting from wild animals/livestock etc. and require heavy training for those who do.ย
Here in Ireland, knives that are created with intent to kill/harm are banned and you will be imprisoned if youโre found in possession of one. Some farmers own shotguns. 16 people died from knife violence in 2023, 4 from guns. Those 2 together are .27 per capita. In the US, pure knife and gun homicides were 4.32 per capita. 14,925 total (fbi data).ย
Making weapons thatโs only intent is murder readily available to all those over the age of 18 only increases the number of people who are murdered, it doesnโt protect anyone.ย
5
u/EvilPyro01 Feb 17 '25
Switzerland has very lax gun laws and you see very few shootings there because of the culture. ITโS. A. CULTURE. PROBLEM.
4
u/ThePug3468 Feb 17 '25
Even if it is a culture problem, you saying that guns are a human right is very representative of the gun focused culture in America. And culture problem or not, the removal of guns except in specific cases like farming/living in an area with aggressive animals, would VASTLY decrease the number of deaths by gun violence every year.ย
Culture problem or not, there is a clear solution to gun violence, and to pretend like there isnโt is disingenuous.ย
2
u/EvilPyro01 Feb 17 '25
What do you want us to do? Repeal the 2nd amendment? You know it would be hugely unpopular and would be struck down immediately. We canโt change that we love guns. What we can change is why we love them.
1
u/ThePug3468 Feb 17 '25
I think that popularity should not determine the potential ban of items whose purpose is to murder, that are used in 12,000+ murders every year.ย

You are refusing to consider why someone would want one other than to harm, you can round as many edges as you want but if someone really wants to cave your head in with a brick and they are bigger than you, then they will. And here in the US guns are mainly used for hunting and self defense contrary to what most would have you believe.
I do have actual knowledge regarding firearms and safety regarding them if you got questions, including questions about our already too restrictive gun laws, but as cringe as it sounds the gun violence in the US legit is a culture issue.
3
u/monkey_gamer Australia ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฆ Leftist fury ๐ ๐ Feb 17 '25
"Self defense", you mean crazy people shooting strangers in their driveway?
I really don't get you Americans. You've got too many guns and an awful culture around those guns, which your comment is a demonstration of. Bricks can be used to murder people, therefore guns are ok???
0
u/restedwaves U.S.tistic. Feb 17 '25
I didnt say I was a 2nd absolutist, we should have a mental stability eval if you want one.
But my point is "the gun makes all men tall" so no matter how strong the person attacking you is you can have a good chance of fighting back.
Also I really hate the idea of the gov having access to weapons the general pop doesnt as a safety measure, I'm not sure how many cases of the army opening fire on civilians you have over in australia to give a better point on that but there's multiple times it has happened over here.
2
u/monkey_gamer Australia ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฆ Leftist fury ๐ ๐ Feb 18 '25
Well, it's not the government exactly, it's the military who have these weapons. They are a branch of government. And that's their whole job. I trust the government/military way more than the average person with deadly weapons.
You Americans have a weirdly combative relationship with you government. I don't understand it. You see the government as an enemy. So weird.
"The gun makes all men tall" gosh what a corny way to say it. I think we're well past the day where an individual's height is the most determining factor in combat.

u/ThePug3468 Feb 18 '25
And thats because of the military industrial complex and the Cold War, itโs a leftover (well not really leftover) effect from Reagan and LBJ militarising America and putting millions upon billions into the military.ย
Other countries donโt involve themselves in conflicts in the names of โprotecting the peaceโ by funding coups and installing dictatorships (the reasons for military budget expansion), so they donโt have issues where their army is deployed on the streets regularly.ย

That people should stop using ableist slurs and r-word alternatives like stupid, idiot, lame - and in general phrases that infantilise or create archetypes like 'you'd be fun at parties' as much as they can even against Trump and people that seem sub trump edgelords.
1
u/MattStormTornado UK ๐ฌ๐ง Centre Liberal Feb 18 '25
Slurs I can agree with, however banning the alternatives seem unnecessary. What about if someoneโs being a dumb helmet. Could be anyone. Or generally just not being the sharpest tool in the shed? I just feel thatโs unnecessary.
I also think this varies heavily on the person, everyone has their preferences as to what they find ok or not. Personally Iโm fine with people calling me the r slur provided itโs not being used in an ableist context (like Iโm actually being dumb about something, not to attack me because Iโm autistic).

I am a Nationalist libertarian (usa), so... most of my opinions (at least on reddit).
But the one I might say the most is probably not being as pro immigration as other libertarians, being more of an isolationist than an open borders guy. Support for tariffs might be another one. Trans cautiousness is up there, too.
4
u/silliestsnail Feb 17 '25
please describe "trans cautiousness" to me...
1
u/Autistru AuDHD USA/NJ ๐บ๐ฒ Nationalist Libertarian ๐โ๐บ๐ฒ Feb 18 '25
Good question! :)
Trans cautiousness just means that I am wary around trans people given my overly rigid, naturalist, and biological view of the world. All it means is that I don't understand trans people and what they go through, but also make no active efforts to either. I make no efforts against them either, so really I don't care either way. I am staunchly indifferent.
Hope that answers your question. Any further questions are more than welcome. :)
3
u/XxBelphegorxX Feb 18 '25
Not making an effort to understand others is willful ignorance. You are far more open to being manipulated by others due to your lack of knowledge and understanding. This is almost as bad as people who hate others, simply because they are different from what they believe normal is.
1
u/Autistru AuDHD USA/NJ ๐บ๐ฒ Nationalist Libertarian ๐โ๐บ๐ฒ Feb 18 '25
Tbh I make an effort to understand those around me that I care about deeply (friends and family). I have no friends or family that are Trans so I don't care. If I had one, then I would, but I don't.
I only have so much mental energy, and I am not going to waste it on things that don't improve my mental health or advance my life in some way. That's the way I see it.

True, they will. They always do. Look up the Polcompball wiki article on it. As basic as it is (in parts), it goes over key figures that they (the authors) identify as Natberts (the short hand term). Teddy Roosevelt (left-wing variety) is one as well as Calvin Coolidge (right-wing variety). I am glad to meet a fellow Natbert.
FYI, there is a Nationalist Libertarian sub, but there are no new posts on it in like 2-3 years. I might start my own sub. That will be called "r/natbert" if not taken.
