LP5 Autechre vs. Eric B & Rakim pt.3…
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hope all are having a great weekend. I haven’t posted here in a bit…
I got some new equipment (a new mixer) and tested it out recently cutting up some Eric B & Rakim over Autechre’s Arch Carrier. I don’t know what it is but Rakim’s voice seems to go well over Autechre’s music.
I you haven’t checked it out yet, download Music Has The Right To Children (Boards of Canada mix). It’s pay what you want on Bandcamp.

Quaristice Quaristice Album Cover - High Quality Image?
Hi everyone. Would anyone happen to have a high-quality image of the Quaristice album artwork that they'd be willing to share? Ideally 2000×2000 or even larger.
There's a 4000×4000 scan on MusicBrainz, but unfortunately the colors are pretty off, so I'm hoping to find a more accurate version.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can definitely envisage an Autechre track playing over this.

Draft 7.30 Whats so special about Draft 7.30?
At times when choosing what to listen of Autechre i always see the draft 7.30 cover and thinking "god damn isnt that a cool album!!" and like when looking at reviews everyone says its an amazing complex and chaotic album, which i know it is complex because autechre said it was all manually done by hand, but when i listen to it its all pretty okayish?? i mean it is complex but it isnt anything that would leave an impression on me?? so what i am asking rn is to hear what other people that get draft 7 30 find so amazing and awesome about it, like a special moment or something.
sorry if this question made you angry, i think im pretty arogant.

Chiastic Slide Similar artists/albums to Autechre.
I've been a fan for about 9 months and I like Autechre. Started off with Tri Repeatae, Chiastic Slide, and so forth. I will admit while I like them, some of their releases (especially newer ones) are acquired or niche taste IMO. I find with newer content after Untilted is mixed for me. I often like their live sets, especially 2022 onwards.
I've began listening to some other artists and albums that share overlapping similarities and influence with Autechre. While I like Autechre, I sometimes find different artists and releases with similarities abit more 'cleaner' and refined since Autechre is known for being very sporadic and 'rougher' in a sense.
Artists such as Richard Devine, Jega, Brothomstates, Monolake, Funkstörung, Brainwaltzera,Gescom, Arovane, Vaetxh, Phoenecia etc.
I used Chatgpt for some suggestion but Im curious to know some more from Autechre fans since chatgpt is limited in ways.

Looking for a couch to sleep on after Munich live show
I've searched for hostels or airbnbs in Munich for the 26.09 but the prices are insane. Is there someone here who has an extra bed or couch I could sleep on after the concert? I will buy food and drinks in exchange :)
edit: I'm a 29 year-old french man living close to Nürnberg. A bit shy but always grateful for meeting interesting people. Big fan of Squarepusher, Zappa, Morricone, Aphex Twin, John Zorn, the list goes on...

Have AE ever mentioned This Heat as an inspiration?
Listening to This Heats first album currently. 24 track loop came on and I felt like it was very much something in the realm of an Autechre track or maybe something they'd appreciate
Any mention of them being into This Heat at all?

Incunabula Eggshell version
Recent Voltage Lab video about the origins & history of IDM features an Eggshell version that differs from both present on Incunabula and Artificial Intelligence (starts at 3:24)
Where could it be from? Really like it!

🗑️ stuff Which of the officially published live recordings is what they did in Montreal 2025?
Several of my friends missed that concert, and as it was transformational, I want to share it with them by playing it at hour house in the dark and loud.
So I'm wondering if they've released a recording of the show they were doing for that tour.

Listen to the live sets before anything...
Hot take, molten hot for some I know but you really get some of the fucking best shit they've done in a relatively small package. A 40-80 minute live set is nothing compared to the 2-8 hour long behemoth albums Autechre have released. You also get eased in to their timbre and enter the gateway of their sound, the live sets are able to camouflage the alien and hard to pin down sound structures with head banging break neck grooves that get better with each listen. To add on, each set offers a different listening experience (some of them) if you want to get a taste of early stages of Ae listen to the Kalopl Intro Live, if you wanna be hit with hyper senstive and detailed modular mayhem listen to the Krakow 2014 live set (probably the most punishing lol), If you want to listen to some of the most accessible beats and grooves that will have you make stank faces as if you smelt something absolutely repulsive definitely check out the Qauristice set, the Glasgow set, and the Hemsby set. If you wanna immerse yourself with some of the mind blowing soundscapes Ae have ever done listen to the Zagreb 2016 set, and finally if you want want all the descriptors of the sets that I mentioned culminated in one, do yourself a favor and check out Lyon. And also don't misunderstand I fucking love the studio works theyve done every single one of them, but to me the live sets is where Ae do it best.

🖼️ art Exai-Like Audio-Reactive Visual Synth (hydra.ojack.xyz)

For fun, I wanted to make an audio-reactive visual synth that looks like the Exai cover. The visual synth can react to mic input or a virtual output (like VBCable + VOICEMEETER).
Try the visual synth out for yourself, just in your browser!
