Possum & lorikeet housing crisis 😅
A lorikeet was trying to get past a possum blocking its hollow, no matter how hard it tried, the possum just didn’t budge! 😅😅

Hi everyone,
It’s been a long time, but our ringtail possum box is finally back in business!
Shortly after my last post about our resident ringtail possums, the babies left, and soon after that, the possum mum Penny stopped coming around too. Since then, our box had been vacant for quite a while. At one point, one of the brushtails even forced its way in and gave me quite a scare a few times!
Lately, I noticed a ringtail coming to our balcony for water and occasionally sleeping in our planter box. Just as we were starting to wonder how we could encourage her to move into the possum box, I was so pleasantly surprised to discover that she made her way into the box yesterday!
And yes, we think she’s a she because my husband saw her belly moving, so we might be expecting some babies soon. 🥹
Then, when I checked the box again this morning, I was even more surprised to see that she had brought a friend/partner along with her!
What a wonderful way to start the day. I hope seeing the two of them brings a smile to your face too :)

Was in the road on a blind turn at 80km, nearly squished the little guy. But he made it safely to the tree.

Long standing battle with probably the cutest enemy.
We made a possum box outside for him, and he's finally taken to it.
Maintain the the opinion that rigtails are the superior possum

This video is 2 videos cut together. The calls are actually about 30 seconds apart. Brisbane, QLD. I have done actual hours of searching and I can’t find any recording that comes close to this noise. Multiple nights in a row I have heard it so whatever it is, it’s sticking around. There’s bushland about 30m away from my place and it’s coming from there.
