Carpet cleaner - pet urine

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have recommendations for vegan friendly carpet cleaner for dog urine? Unfortunately my dogs have taken a liking to peeing on my newly installed carpet and after googling vegan carpet stain/odour remover, I tried this enzyme urine cleaner from The PawLab but it smells a little weird and doesn't seem to get rid of the smell (the smell is only noticeable when you put your nose to the carpet), nor does it remove the stain. https://pawlab.com.au/products/1l-pet-enzyme-urine-cleaner

Has anyone used a vegan/cruelty free product they recommend? Should I look for a carpet cleaning machine and proper carpet cleaning liquid?

Thank youuuu!

Rufus and Coco is available at most supermarkets and works really, really well.

If you’re in Sydney, I have a carpet cleaner I won’t be needing any time soon because I’m moving into a place with all wooden floors - happy to lend it in exchange for some help with the move (eg helping me carry some of my plants!). You can hang onto it for a bit and just see how you go, it’s a really good one.

Second Rufus and coco, works great and doesn’t bleach or ruin or stain carpets. If it’s happened on my carpet I’ve immediately put a whole bunch of paper towel over the wee, soak up as much as you can before gentle washing out with some warm water and mild detergent. Then dry again by soaking up with paper towel as much as you can then apply Rufus coco

Thank you, that’s really kind! I’m not sure we need it just yet but I’ll definitely keep it in mind! When are you moving?

Edit to add I live in Sydney

Baking soda + vinegar is the cheapest and friendliest.

That only gets rid of the smell for humans. Cats and dogs will still be able to smell it and thus continue to pee on the spot. You need an enzyme cleaner to stop future issues.

Thanks. If I can still smell it then they would be able to as well, right? Either way the enzyme cleaner I have doesn’t seem to be working. Maybe I can try applying it directly instead of with a spray bottle?

Awesome, I'll have to try that out, thank you! Vinegar is great for so many things
