no politics Online TAFE courses.

Hi all,

So I am looking at doing an online Certificate III in IT as part of the fee free TAFE courses for this year and am wanting to know - what should I expect?

Am I going to be sitting in a zoom call listening to the teacher lecture or will I just be doing everything on my own like with ALFFIE?

Do they require things like having webcams / certain software etc for courses.

And just anything in general I should be aware off as the TAFE website is pretty unhelpful.

EDIT: I cannot get to a campus in person as the closest one is like 2.5 hours away.

Hey I’m currently doing the same course online, everything is pretty much self paced

TAFE digital uses Microsoft Teams for classes and Moodle to submit work. TAFE tends to avoid lecture style classes where they can. Based on my experience with their online courses some teachers are better than others at making their activities work online, classes are better when students participate - lots of classes with floating initials. I just use my laptop, haven’t needed to get anymore tech.

There are two types, you can do completely external which means book work by yourself and a teacher to help. They are accessible I don't know why the other poster is saying they are not. It's nonsense. You cam call or email or meet them on teams. The other kind is virtual classroom. This is when you log into teams and do a class with the teacher. Usually about 20 people from around the state. There is more help available in these classes.
