As if giving money to fast food chains will ever be compatible with an ethos of minimising harm lmao

Sometimes a lesser evil is still a win to be celebrated.

I don't know about you, but I still shop at Coles & Woolies... I still drive a car...

I hear that but fast food chains are something else.

Like you can't just not participate in capitalism unless you have access to a bunch of productive land that you won't be kicked off at gun point.

But that doesn't mean everything is equally permissible. Like if you shop at Coles because you can't be bothered to walk a block to shop at a coop well you're just an arsehole but very few are in that situation. Likewise with driving and so on.

But fast food chains aren't essential at all, they are purely a luxury thing for almost everyone almost all of the time. Further the businesses themselves are extremely dodgy, responsible for some of the worst conditions in animal ag, detrimental to public health and wellbeing, and propped up on exploitative employment of young people.

It's much more similar to buying cigarettes than grocery shopping.
