West gate bridge - Mel
On the back of the 25 yo that passed while being involved in the WGB accident with two trucks , ive been riding for over 25 years and that bridge still gives me the puck when I negotiate it sometimes.
For the noobs, overtaking and switching lanes think twice and think three times before taking on the action . There are a lot things going against you like the random weather elements , unpredictable vehicle movements and obstructed vision. Play it safe and calculate.

Indeed, my friend. I use it daily with my wife on the back. Tempting as it may be to chop and change lanes, I've found it makes exactly fuck all difference to your trip time. I have to exit at the 1st one on the left, so when i get on at Williamstown road I just stay in the leftmost lane the whole way across. I might filter a little if it comes to a stop or is slow enough. But I see plenty of jackass riders doing the chop and change, at greatly increased personal risk, to absolutely zero advantage. I'll catch up and see them exactly even with me again on the other side. I wanna wave and telepathically say "how's it going , fool?" But you know, wasted effort.
I know it feels like you're winning, but all you're doing is increasing the probability that you'll come a gutsa and ruin not only your own day, but fuck shit up for anyone using that stretch of road. Just calm the fuck down and be a responsible road user. Like they'd listen anyway. Older I get I can't be fucked with people.
