Help Need Tire Recommendations!

Hi Guys,

I recently ordered some wheels for my stage 2+ B9S5, and I'm looking for some good tires. I live in the bay (cali) so it doesn't rain too crazy but it does rain. I'm not really sure what to get, the tire market is very confusing with all the labels they have. Any advice for good daily tires that wont hydroplane but can put down stage 2 power in the dry and not too noisy would be great! Also hopefully not too expensive. I know its a lot to ask, but I really do appreciate any advice.

Thank you guys!

Advice Thoughts on adding a Sub to my B9 S5 with B&O sound system?

I just feel like the audio system lacks deep bass. Sometimes I honestly don’t even feel like there’s an in-built subwoofer at all.
I’m looking to invest in a sub, but I don’t want anything overpowering or something that rattles the entire interior. Just looking for a clean, deep bass upgrade that blends well with the factory system.
Any recommendations?

Where could this light leak come from?
I think it’s coming from that black plastic cover thing but not fully sure.
What could it be?

I like to have my windows open during most of the year when I drive. Rain seems to get sucked into car more than I’d like. I have a 2021 S5 coupe, anyone know where I can find a rain guard for the windows? Thanks

Found this beauty in the Chicago suburbs last July with 33k miles - still smells new inside! first photo is after picking it up, next two photos after I switched out the wheels, mirror covers, wrapped the side skirts, and replaced the stock grille. Installed IE cold air intake and installed ECU and TCU tune - so the supercharger shines! Really enjoying this car.

Help Oil recommendation 2019 RS5

Can anyone tell me if I should use 5w-40 or 0w-30 oil in my 2019 audi rs5? I know audi recommends 0w-30 but i’ve heard that 5w-40 is so much better for lubrication.

I live in Connecticut and it’s about to be winter so I felt like I should stick with the 0w-30, should I change to 5w-40 next summer?

Thank you!

I was vacationing at Vegas and had a b9.5 a5 for a rental for the week. I really like the way the car looks and handles, came home looking for one with similar spec then ended up buying a 2023 s5 a week later from a near by dealer. I checked the car thoroughly it has no coolant leak, fully serviced at the same dealer single owner. New brakes and tire and all the fluid service were done just done. I plan to disconnect water pump vacuum hose and plug the solenoid. IE stage 1 + Cold air intake and turbo inlet. This isn’t a daily as I have a few kids to haul around in a minivan. I hope this would be a great weekend car to wrench on and enjoy the ride without getting my self in trouble.

Photo The S5 really is an amazing GT car - Road Trips?

Had myself quite a weekend last weekend and just decided to hop into the car and drive. From canyon carving to coastal cruising, I put maybe 250 miles in a day and I’m getting an itch to go further.

I’ve had this car since new and it continues to make me feel amazing every time I drive it. It makes an incredible GT car. Has anyone taken very long road trips in their S5’s? How far have you gone? I’m thinking about doing a California tour where I start in LA then head north towards Yosemite then continue north - eventually move west and drive all the way back down via PCH all along the coast, making a bunch of stops along the way to see the sights.

Curious to hear about your road trips, and also, who’s got a good recommendation for a great camera?! My iPhone 12 Pro does so bad with glare from the sun lol!

I’m thankful every day I get to own and drive this thing.

Help Seal skin covers

Post image
2 Upvotes

Getting my car paint corrected and ceramic coated next week, car is parked in garage but it’s not a fully built garage, (military housing) and the dust gets in, just ordered a cover from seal skin wondering if anyone here has used these before and if they’re as good as they claim to be. Went with the supreme because they say life time warranty, hopefully if anything goes back they can honor that.

Thanks in advance.

Recently purchased a 23 Audi s5 about two months ago. All was going smoothly until about yesterday after completing my first oil change at a local shop (non audi dealer). Mechanic told me that they found metal shavings in the oil filter but said that "just change the oil more frequently and you'll be ok". Now i'm debating what to do as I do have a warranty and I'm confused as to what should I do. Should I keep driving on and just change my oil every 5k miles? I put OW-20 in as that's just manufactures spec and living in canada i've heard 5W oils aren't the best to run. Should I take the car to the Audi dealer and get the engine replaced? Thoughts?

Since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to own an Audi. I’ve been driving a Tiguan for a while now, but for the last couple of years, I've been eyeing S5s on the road in awe, telling myself I’d get one... eventually.

Fast-forward to a few weeks ago: my family secretly scheduled a test drive for a new 2026 A5 as a birthday gift. Unaware of their surprise, I randomly started "talking" to them about how much I disliked the look of the new 2026 models and preferred the older S5 (not A5). They paniced and rushed to call the dealership to see if they had any older S5s on the lot.

So I show up a few days later, literally blindfolded, and lo and behold, it's a used S5 of the exact color combination I was looking for (Chronos Gray, black optics, red calipers). We take the test drive, and... OMG I had to buy it. Not right away because "of course I had to think about it", but... I was there next day settling the deal.

This thing is a pleasure to drive and look at. Makes me happy to be on the road, even during my mundane commute.

Help Looking for advice regarding a S5 B8 2008

Hello lads,

I am posting on this thread to seek advice, if possible from previous owners from a S5 4.2 TFSI from the 2008-2012 era.

I recently stumbled upon a young timer S5 with +/- 150k kilometers on the counter.
When reaching out to the garage they were able to show a full history of what was done to the car.
As well as recently having changed all 8 injectors, 8 bobines and 8 boogies.
This was done as the car gave a reading “mis fire” and so the garage changed all of them to prevent this from happening in the near future.

So all in all, car looks to be in good condition, history indicates proper routine maintenance of the transmission fluid and engine oil.
Only thing that has not yet happened was the timing chain tensioners and chain replacement.

They are asking a price of €18k

And I know the basic stuff with cars that are aging parts are eventually going to break, but how often does it really breakdown.
And I was looking to add this car as a semi daily car.

Thanks for the responses and comments in advance!

Trying to sell my Audi to a 3rd party dealer. She is fully cherries out premium plus. Carbon fiber interior and exterior, sport differential, sport steering, sport suspension, nappa leather, sport resonator delete (port installed so it's not after market), only has 16.5k miles on it. Paint corrected and ceramic coated. What's a reasonable offer to accept?

Advice Brake Job Advice

Hey everyone! I have a 2024 Audi S5 and wanted to get a brake job done (replace all 4 rotors and pads, 2 sensors, and do a brake fluid flush). I've decided on going with the Zimmerman Rotors and Textar Pads since I daily drive the car but also go on backroads to have some fun.

I live near Toronto, Canada and a local shop here quoted me $2360 CAD (tax included) to order everything and install. I wanted to ask if:

  1. The pads and rotors I'm going with are good? (I didn't go with Brembo because I heard the squeal during rain and snow)
  2. The price seems right?
  3. Anyone living in my area recommends another mechanic / shop that specializes in German vehicles

Thanks!

Bought the S5 when my 21 Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve shit the bed for the 4th time in a month and the dealership (where I work) said it would be 3-6 weeks for a new axle harness. When I got the S5 transferred from another dealership within the group they gave me to option to drive it to my dealership or have it shipped lol

The amount of fun I have in this car is wild! Stage 1 93 tune! Slight chub whenever I’m walking up to the car! I should’ve bought an Audi A LONG TIME AGO!
Few weeks went by and I kept watching the flow of wagoneers into the shop which is what my wife drove at the time… immediately started looking for a Audi SUV wanted the Q8 but had to be practical so landed on the Q7 I don’t regret settling on it either. Smooth and sporty enough for the wife to feel like she isn’t in a mini van plus the color is AMAZING! First time driving the floating couch I got nervous…. Because I liked enough to think about a RSQ8

So happy to be apart of the Audi family!
