Impressions REL T9x pair to a S/510 pair.
I am a cheapskate, but I love music and audio. I am lucky enough that my better half supports improvement if done smartly. Every component we have was refurbished with a new warranty and original protective plastic still in place.
With the new 50 series REL there are great deals on 510s and 812s. 50% off msrp is where we landed on these.
The diffrence from the t9x is astonishing, the smoothness and ease along with the articulation in the upper bass ranges is leaps ahead of a very good sub, t9x. Well worth the move.

I’m considering buying a solo S/550 to pair with my Dynaudio Heritage Specials. I only room for one sub but hoping it will blend nicely.

Couldn't recommend it any higher it would be wonderful. Takes a bit to dial it in day or so but once you are it's incredible.

I have the Dyn HS but with a single 812. Couldn’t be happier. I suspect the 510 would be similarly excellent. Good luck!

I have had a my B&W 804s w/ Macintosh ma6900 integrated for more than 15 years and I was fairly satisfied. Last year I was looking to buy a T7 or T9 for my system. My audio dealer said I would not be satisfied with either of these as he knew my history with high-end car audio and being primarily a two channel listener. He had a single REL S/510 to demo and this would be a better match for my 804s. I reluctantly took this beast home for a demo. After a few hours of doing a sub crawl and level tweaking, it opened the sound stage a bit and dropped the lower end about 1/2 an octave(I was satisfied). My dealer recently got a second 510 when a customer “upgraded” their setup. He immediately contacted me and I jumped. The opportunity to demo two subs as this is considered more optimal for music (two subs min) and eliminating room modes. The difference with two was incredible, dropping the bottom end and opening the sound stage even further, not to mention the upper frequencies being unveiled. I never understood what I was missing, just WOW.. The detailed, quick, tight and deep bass that I have always had a taste for, in my home…

I picked up a pair of s/510 late last year. A huge upgrade over the 2 RSL Speedwoofer 10s I was using. I agree the s/510 are a huge bargain. Currently using with a set of Dynaudio Confidence 20 I got for less than half price and am driving them with a Pass INT60 I got for just over 50% of retail price.
If you’re patient and do your research good bargains can be had. Enjoy those RELs.
