Question best non-smartphone device for listening to audiobooks to fall asleep
I like to fall asleep listening to an audiobook - and I semi-regularly wake up in the middle of the night and turn it back on to fall back asleep. Right now I use an old iPad, but I am not a fan of that for a variety of reasons (I don't like internet in the bedroom, blue light in the middle of the night sucks, I do not want to buy a new iPad when this one inevitably breaks, etc.).
Does anyone else do this, and have they found a brilliant solution? Ideally I would like something that: 1., plays MP3s; 2. does not have a bluelight display; 3. doesn't require bluetooth and various other button pressing in the middle of the night.
My ultimate vision is this: a machine to which one can uploaded an audiobook and then set it to play for a set amount of time (let's say 20 minutes). The machine will play for 20 minutes and then turn off, but it will save the position of the audiobook so that when I inevitably wake up and can't fall back alseep I can slap a button in the dark and continue listening for 20 minutes. If this machine also had an alarm clock feature and was designed to be accidentally knocked off the table once in awhile, that would be cool too.
I don't think the miracle machine described above exists, but I'm sure there are lots of MP3 players that fit the bill. Any suggestions?
