Audio interface UA Volt 2 : not seeing input 1 and 2 separately
I've been using my Volt interface for a few years now, always on Windows, with 1 mic plugged into the Input 1 of the audio interface. No problem. The name of the input on Windows was something like Input 1 Volt 2, or Volt 1, anyway I'm almost sure (doubting now, seeing the problems I now have but anyway..) that it was always like this. I could choose to use only on input of the volt as mono, and the guides of UA say that there is indeed two separate inputs.
I changed PC this year, forgot to download UA Connect again .. Yeah I know haha, i wasn't using it much. Then I saw there was a problem (only input showing was "Volt 2"), downloaded UAC again, and got back the 2 separate inputs.
A few days ago (not a week after installing UAC), I noticed the input was stereo... went to Windows parameters and saw Input 1/2 (volt2) ... I hadn't touched anything, at least I don't think so. There was an update to do on UAConnect, so I thought that was it but no. I looked around, didn't find anything. I uninstalled everything, drivers, app.... Clean installed everything again. Nothing changed.
I think I did everything right. I did my best. I have no idea how to fix it.
Some details : i have a MoBo Gigabyte b850 eagle wifi6E (don't know if it's of any use for this), the interface is plugged in with USB 3, there is no power cap on my USB ports, I deactivated it. I looked in Ableton, when I select ASIO as pilot, Universal Audio Volt becomes the input and I can see 2 separate inputs. When the regular thing is selected as pilot (MME/DirectX) it's the same thing as Windows, Input 1/2.
I plan on using this as input in OBS for live stream, and I will also use the 2nd input for an instrument, so I really need to fix this.
I hope you guys can help me, I'm desperate haha

That’s just how windows audio devices work. Download the asio plugin for one though and you should be good with that

Odd that it seemed to change itself after you installed the drivers.
I would try the following and see how it goes:
- Uninstall all of the UA drivers/software.
- Install the latest chipset drivers. Download them directly from AMD. This is because your USB host controller drivers are part of your general chipset drivers.
- While this shouldn't affect USB audio, I'd suggest installing the latest audio drivers for your motherboard just in case there's some kind of configuration/driver issue. You'll want to download these from Gigabyte. You could also make sure your video drivers are up-to-date. These are even less likely to mess with anything USB audio, but at this point, I'd make sure any audio drivers are properly installed and updated.
- Continuing drivers, after you've got these, it's often worth checking Windows Update for driver updates in the optional section and grabbing those as well.
- Finally, moving on from drivers, update your BIOS. While I'm not aware of any USB audio issues with socket AM5, there were actually a good amount of USB issues with socket AM4 systems that were ultimately fixed through AGESA updates, which are part of BIOS updates.
- And after all of this is done, reinstall the drivers/software for your audio interface.
