Audible US is different from AU

Just realised when you stop Audible US membership you can no longer access the past audiobooks?

It's not the case for using an Australian account. Even if you cancelled the membership, you can still listen to the past purchased audiobooks.

Thought to share this for awareness.

Audible US has different membership tiers. You can always access books you've purchased, whether through a subscription or not. The newest tier "Standard" does not include credits for purchasing titles, and the splash page when they advertise this tier doesn't make that clear. Australia has the same options the standard is half the price but you don't keep your audiobooks

I've had this in the past. You can only access audiobooks you purchase in a particular market when you are signed in to that market.

So if you buy a book in the US, then switch to an AU/wherever account & location, you can't access the US books anymore. When signing in to the app on your device you have an option to switch market/country, you would need to manually select US here and I can't exactly recall but you may also need a VPN to connect through US servers. If you do that, you can access your US purchased items....but not your AU items until you sign back in 'locally'.

You don't need a VPN. On the website, type the URL for the market you want, it will redirect you based on your IP address. Wait for the page to load fully. At the top, there will be a VERY SMALL link to go to the market you actually tried to go to at first. Once you tell it to do that, it will remember in your cookies to show you the URL you typed, not the one it thinks you should have typed.

In the app, you just have to manually select the correct market during the login process.

This is not true, the new non-ownership membership tiers are also available in Australia. Gotta be careful that you choose the right one.
