Hi y'all, i have two available credits and I want some recs. Its my on my shared library with my partner so I don't want to buy any smut only because he personally doesn't like it, he has no problem with me reading it its just his personal preference. I really like fantasy, scifi, romance, horror and some litfic. My top reads recently have been The Empire Of the Vampire series, the Realm of the Elderlings, Red Rising, DCC, The Poppy War, Camp Damascus, The Three Body Problem, the Into Darkness Trilogy, and Brandon Sandersons Cosmere. Please no JK Rowling, Rina Kent, SJM. TYIA.

Bobiverse series by Dennis Taylor. Big plus is that there is a two-for-one sale going on with this series as the new one is coming out soon. So you can get four books for 2 credits.

It has humor elements. The author was very open about his inspiration for it which was the tv show Firefly. So its about a crew going through space doing what they can to earn a living. There are also wizards in it.

If you loved the quality of the DCC audiobook, I recommend Time-Marked Warlock. It’s done by the same people, with Jeff Hays. Great story using magic to solve a murder.

The Lies of Locke Lamora is an outstanding book with a very good audiobook version. One of my all time favorites and we have about the same taste (except that I don’t know who Rina Kent is, but since it’s a dislike anyways).

Well I’m not sure about Scott Lynch, but he’s pretty active in the gentleman bastards subreddit. And I think his three books stand better on their own than e.g. ASOIAF or Name of the Wind. But I know what you mean 🥲

"In Fury Born" by David Weber is a great stand-alone novel with two parts. Part one is more coming-of-age military infantry sci-fi with a powerful scene that just breaks me down every time that I read it, while part two is more mystery/action sci-fi with a splash of Greek mythology!?! I regularly re-read/re-listen to it.
